It's a fossil fuel war.

However, you dont throw tomatoes and wave banners called child killer at the march of a regiment who's lads have been killed in Afghan, whilst their widows look on.

An anti-Royalist wouldn't wave 'Slag' banners at Diana's funeral would they ?

I'm all for freedom of speech, but there are ways to win support and there are ways to get everyone to despise you. And Anthony Small chose the latter.

The reasons are a seperate topic.
Just a fuel war? Nah your just another victim of bias media. Yeah, do make you kind of right about not throwing tomatoes and waving banners with 'child killer' on it, should think of their relatives and not hurt their feelings as they are only doing a job and what they are instructed to do........Then again we also shouldn't be disgusted what the Nazi's did as they only did the same, a job following out instructions. Is that right? No I dont think so. Understand what your saying about anti-Royalist at Diana's funeral but its a bit of a different emotional level

If you are talking about just normal Germans fighting for Nazi Germany then I'd agree but I suspect you are comparing British soldiers with the Nazi death squads who went rounding up ethnic groups and exterminating them and if that is the case then you are an eejit as there is no comparison.

It's a fossil fuel war.
To us it is, to the Iraqis and the Afghans - its a hostile invasion by a foreign power.

Do you think they care what the rationale is anymore than the Poles cared about the
Germans turning up in 1939 for more lebensraum.

As for Anthony Small, look for him to be boxing out of Germany sometime in the future under
the Ahmet Oner banner. You would be suprised how many white people outside the English
speaking world who are only too happy with what is happening to us and the yanks in the
middle east. People certainly don't see it as 'Islam vs the west' in a lot of countries outside
the anglosphere, rather, they see it as two traditonal military powers getting a bit of a kicking off a
load of sandal wearing pesants armed with a stick of semtex and a mobile phone, and they are
pretty happy about it, sad to say.

Personally, I think Anthony Small is an idiot and his actions were uncalled for. But then - do we support
'free speech' or do we not? If we support free speech in this country then Anthony Small has the right
to say what he wants wherever he wants - however much we don't like it.

The mostly working class men and women - quite a few of them I know, who are fighting out in Afghanistan
we have to support because basically - they are us! If others don't feel the same then thats their right to voice it.

Strange how people would see it like that when you consider that the vast majority of people who are fighting the Taliban are Muslims themselves :-?

You would be suprised (or maybe not) how many people around the world cannot stand the Americans (or rather their foreign policy) or us come to think of it. I remember when US started to bomb Serbia back in 1999 - I was in Moscow at the time - and ordinary Russians stormed to the British and American embassies and near enough tore them down. I had to stay inside for my own safety that week.

Even the British (the ordinary person on the street that is) display a lot of schadenfreude towards the Americans over Vietnam.
So you can imagine how it is in other places outside the anglosphere.

As for 'Islam vs the west' I don't see it like that, probably the good people of Iraq and Afghanistan don't see it like that but a lot of people here and in America certainly see it like that.

This is a myth. People don't have the right to say what they want. And further, the hypocrisy in fundamentalists using the rights of 'free speech' in the UK to promote an agenda which includes denying people the very right they are using, the subjugation and abuse of women and people with different ideas makes me sick to my stomach.

Well, it isn't a myth, in this country - we have free speech, and in places like China and Syria - they don't.

There is a difference in you not agreeing with what Anthony Small says (I don't either for the record - or how he said it) and actually his rights to say what he wants. And it is a moot point what can and can't be said in Saudi Arabia (or wherever...) Small is British and lives here.

This is the country with the most rights in regards free speech - if Anthony Small had done what he did in some town in Texas - he would have got his head blown off - the the culprits would have got away with it.

don't fall into the trap of thinking that the invasion of iraq is the reason that Islamists exist.

No he wouldn’t….see those god hates fags loons for proof of that.

We have no legal right to free speech in this country…it’s a fallacy.

And as ya man has pointed out – smalls mob want to curtail peoples civils rights in any case.

Free speech has it’s limits in any case….would you support the right of nonces to write stories promoting their preferences? Would you be happy for that to be legal?

Small is a traitor and should be treated as such.

During ww2 we locked up nazi sympathisers…why aren’t we doin the same to Islamists?

<rolls eyes>

I’m a leftist anti-fascist who finds the ideology of Islamism repulsive…

Clearly you believe that the oppression of women, homosexuals and the suppression of freedom a good thing.

the response of people such as yourself who would ostensibly believe themselves 'righteous' to Islamism is more worrying than the actual Islamists themselves.

your own racism won't allow you to see Islamists as anything other than brownskinned and so you believe anyone who opposes them MUST be racist or a 'right wing loon'...

Ahh….i see…you’re an Irishman….nothing wrong with that….but your anti-imperialist history won’t allow you to see this situation in its true form.

For the record I always supported the notion of a free an independent Ulster.

Is small not a boxer then?

Was his appearance in the tabloids not predicated on the fact he IS a boxer?

Is there not an issue as to whether he should be allowed to box in this country again bearing in mind the demographic of the average british boxing fan?

Was small not introduced to this dangerous fascist ideology via his trainers? Does this have implications for other boxers?

I used to think very highly of small but his idiocy has destroyed any respect I had for him……though in his defence I will say I always thought he had some form of tourettes as whenever I’ve seen him interviewed he displayed the classic tics and twitches of someone with that syndrome.

Ah, I see what you're saying. I think the two are inextricably linked though - whoever has control of prime resources such as oil is also hugely influential in terms of world order.

It makes me wonder if people realise that the most shocking thing in recent history, certainly of our era - is the Twin Towers bombings and the devastation it caused.

The way it burned for hours and then collapsed killing many more innocent people. Then the other bastards in the air trying and succeeding to blow up / crash jets across the rest of America.

People forget, this atrocity happened BEFORE it was announced that they would be entering Iraq and Afghan.

Two countries with diabolical human rights records. Literally in the dark ages with peasant villages hording heroin, rockets and ammo - even the concern of nuclear or biological weopans of mass destruction.

The west are endeavouring to put diplomatic proceedings in place. Sure, there are civilian casualites along the road and even allied casualities from friendly fire - but did anyone expect anything less ?

Like i said - Twin Towers came before the invasion... did they expect America to do fook all ?

And thats without mentioning the poor souls in London who perished in the terrorist bombings.

I read some posts and think some people should go themselves off back to these peasant villages, where women are stoned to death and a man is rewarded with a 100 virgins for mutilating / castrating his teenage daughters vagina so she may never enjoy a sex life. Where it is legally acceptable to beat a woman, as long as you dont mark her face. Where people crap in the street - and then realise what we have in the UK is pretty good.
