Vanzie vs Murray
I travelled from Leeds to watch and think apart from Bobby's family i think I was the only one cheering him on. It was one of the most hostile crowds I've come across and Vanzie suffered some awful abuse on the way to the ring. Some were spitting at him and someone tried to start a fight with his brother during the fight. I always liked Murray but it was pretty sweet to see him get knocked out, solely because of the way the crowd were. No need for it.

in recent times the moment that got me jumping out my seat was Carl Froch knocking out Jermain Taylor .

Overall id say the first big fight i remember watching , which was Tyson v Buster Douglas , id really got into the hype of Tyson and as far as i remember i dont think id seen anything of him before although i do remember my dad watching Tyson v Bruno , i just didnt care too much at that time , ill Just always remember the reactions of my dad and uncle when Tyson Was Knocked out by Douglas .

Is that why Vanzie was looking out at the crowd at one point during the fight , saw it the other night on ringside

Yes. He said he was ready to jump out of the ring and end the fight right there. Vanzie was a top guy and always willing to fight away from home, but the hostility at this one took it to another level.

Gomez v Arthur...I had always said that if AAA dropped his hands like that agisnt Gomez he could get chinned...at the time(Spud and Ben will agree) people though I was a little bit mad...AAA was the new King of boxing, Gomez was a drunk who was on the slide...but I remained resolute...then when Gomez was smashing him we were going mad...then by the time the finish came it looked as though AAA was getting back into it..I said to my mate that the one who lands next wins...that was Gomez and he dropped him for fun after...great night

When Tyson made Berbick do that silly walk, I fell in love with boxing.

i remember being 8 or 9 & seeing how tyson burst on the scene. being young leaves you being very impressionable, but i remember feeling that this man was even harder then my old man DD he's a great

Great memories. the two boxers that got me into boxing at a young age were Bruno and McGuigan.

First fight I can remember watching was mcguigan-Cabrera; a great scrap.

I remember for McGuigan's comeback vs someone called Miranda????? I think, I convinced the publican to put the fight on, I was so obsessed with boxing...even though I was only 16 and shy, and shouldn't have been near a boozer!

Bruno-Witherspoon kind of traumatised me.....I also remember Honeyghan-Vaca 2 on the radio.

What innocent good times.

Highlights were on Ringside the other night. It did look a pressure cooker situation. Vanzie did well; he had a lot of guts, Murray was very strong.

McGuigan vs Pedroza when i was really young, hearing Danny Boy and then seeing such an incredible performance - first fight i remember

Eubank v Benn 1 - couldn't believe how much heart Eubank had to weather the storm and then overwhelm Benn, incredible

JMM v Pac 2 - best fight i've been to, was totally absorbed by the closeness, intensity and drama

on a personal perspect for me its a fight between two local fighters from were i am from which is in between doncaster/rotherham it was a fighter that i know and lie about 2 minutes away from stefy bull and a fighter from about 10 mile away gwyn wale it was only for the central area title but it was the rivalry that made this fight what it was these guys did not like each other one bit there was alot of trash talking coming from wale it was an intense few week running upto the fight getting the back page of all the local papers it ended up being a sell out at the doncaster dome and it was a cracker of a fight a real domestic war amazing atmosphere and thankfully my guy stefy won it was an amazing feeling..

also the jamie mcdonnell vs napa and arnould fights jamie was massive underdog in both fights and how he grab his chances with both hands was amazing both fights gave me goosebumps a mean the kid won the british/commenwealth and european title in two month thats some going!!

on the world stage it has to be hatton and pacman though i was buzzing for this fight for weeks and how the result turned out i couldn't believe it i was devastated

Personal fight was Moore vs Macklin as I was on undercard and the night was awesome from start to finish including the fight!!

Memorable was Brodie vs Chi what a fight!!

Also watching Benn vs Mcclellan in my front room with my mates 16yrs old!!

That was the night I got together with my wife, so will never forget it.

Ali vs Foreman I remember the night it was on, if not the fight as I was only 4.5. But it's my earliest boxing memory.

Fav' night ever tho' was McGuigan vs Pedroza at Loftus Rd, I was in the crowd that night and it was utterly electric.

Have a soft spot for the Brodie vs In-Jin Chi fights too.

Calzaghe Jones got you into boxing? I hope you have went back and watched Jones in his pomp, what you saw there was a shadow of what he used to be.
