26. Veteran fight manager Dan Morgan on Stanley Ketchel “Ketchel was an exception to the human race. He was a savage. He would pound and rip his opponent’s eyes, nose and mouth in a clinch. He couldn’t get enough blood. His nickname “Assassin”, fit him like a glove.”

Yup, and people wonder why fighters are obsessed with not losing.

Absolutely, I hate how ubiquitous it is too. Nearly every fighter says it. It's part of why I'm now a big Brandon Rios fan, he nearly says he'd fight Victor Ortiz for free.

I've mentioned it before, but I just love Larry Merchant's bluntness in this little soundbyte, where he felt strongly Vernon Forrest had just received a gift. I will paraphrase Forrest's words...
Forrest: "I just wanna thank everyone involved in my camp, you know, it was great, my family, my trainer, my cornerteam ---"
Merchant: "Would you like to thank the judges?"

Why, in the title of this thread, does the plural of
cliche have an "apostrophe s," while
quotes is spelled correctly (no apostrophe)? (Just one of my pet peeves.) When did this insidious spelling become rampant? I see it all over the place these days--particularly since the past five years or so. Is this what they are teaching in school these days? I doubt it. Or are today's teachers just as lazy and guilty and not correcting their students because the teachers too don't know any better? Folks!!!
The plural of things is not spelled with an apostrophe s! Stop it, please!!!
