You have to laugh, sometimes, at how wildly different our interpretations of a fight can be, even amongst members who may usually see things in a similar fight.

Never clearer that scoring is an art, not a science. The vagaries make for good discussion-fodder

I've never heard anyone say they thought Page won either of those fights. I doubt Greg would have said it. Chaplin was utterly dominant in both fights.

Can't say I've seen 'em.

Pretty infuriating, it was honorable of Page to grant the rematch. I remember the announcers saying that they couldn't take it from Chaplin again, then they did.

I used to have both fights, have to look at them again, but from what I saw the first time, I would've given it to Greg by a hair.The second fight, there were things Greg did in spurts, but I wouldn't complain if they gave it to George.Greg screwed himself up by going in at 238, his first major red flag of his career at that time.Dokes himself said in an interview that he felt Page had lost, so it was a bad decision in many ways.

too each their own, I didn't find them remotely competitive. Neither did Clancy or ryan, not that announcers always have it right.

Rewatched 'Spoon vs Mercer t'other night, not the worst decision ever but after ten swaying-back-&-forth rounds one judge had Mercer up 97-91 -- that's 7-3 with two point deductions/knockdowns, which I must've missed, high as I was at the time. So I flicked back through the rounds & you know what... I still don't know where those extra two points come from. I had it a point for Witherspoon, btw.

It would probably be easier to list good honest decisions I've seen. Chris Byrd was the recipient of many phony decisions; Fres Oquendo was on the opposite end. Golota was robbed vs. Byrd and Ruiz. Bad decisions are more the rule than the exception. I was half expecting them to give Shannon Briggs the decision over Vitali Klitschko. If the fight was in Las Vegas they probably would have.
