Haye does have good head movement, but he will need to close the gap after slipping the jab. Against Audley that was easy, as there was nothing coming back, against Wlad, a lot tougher.
Haye has to be aggressive early I feel, as if Wlad is allowed to get into his stride with the jab, Haye is going to take some hurtful shots. I honestly think Wlad's jab may be enough to seriously dent Haye.

The same lame 'get a Yank' game!
We had it for ten years with Calzaghe and then Hatton.
Ask Paul Smith about Buddy 'thas right baby' McGirt.
Tim, who was the secret star of the recent brilliant Holmes/Ali doc on ESPN Classic, is a good performer in the gym. But, Haye is never going to use a cross-armed defence and bull forward against any heavyweight. It's possible that somebody like Brendan Ingle could work with Adam on a few maverick moves.
Brendan fits the profile of the teacher/guru that Bernard Hopkins talked about on the BBC London show last week (it's still available on the BBC Boxing page on the BBC site). If - and it's a massive 'if' - Adam needs a fresh look then he will turn to an old-school guru.
Adios.

Haye doesn't need any help,he's retiring next year so looking for another trainer would be ridiculous, besides adam seems like a top man to have in your corner, they know exactly what their doing, their consistently pulling maximum money's for minimal fights before they finish off with 2 huge fights on their terms and ride off into the sunset having made the absolute most from a relatively short boxing career, good luck to them

Witherspoon's quite an interesting talker isn't he?
They talked about getting Freddie Roach in in an 'advisory capacity', before the Ruiz fight. This wasn't just for publicity either. I remember reading an interview with Roach saying he liked what he saw with Haye and would work with him. I know it's easy to get excited about somebody like Roach, just because he's so high profile and he trains Manny and has apparently done such a good job with Khan. But tactically, he does seem to be pretty on the ball. He did spot some glaring flaws in Hatton from tapes and then exploited those flaws. I don't know whether anybody else had noted Ricky "pumping his fists" before punching, but it looks like Roach had him all figured out and that's why he was out of there so fast. You can't help thinking that Booth and Haye sitting down with Roach in front of a few tapes of Wladamir and picking some holes wouldn't hurt. And then identifying how to exploit those holes and working on some stuff in the gym. Haye's so inactive this doesn't even need to form part of a training camp, does it? Any fight with either brother is ages away. I'm not saying "dump Booth" - that's madness- but I think Witherspoon's right: he needs all the help he can get. Everyone talks about his "two big money fights" but if he loses the first there won't be a second. These guys are very difficult to even be effective against at all, so why not go and get a bit of high profile advice?
By the way, you can see from his last fight that Wlad has been working on his uppercut. I'd expect that to come into play with Haye. I think they know David's gonna get inside that jab at some point, so they'll have something to pull out of the bag for him. He's not only going to have to train for what he's seen already, but he's going to have to second guess what they're going to work out for him.

The old phrase "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" comes to mind.
That was my immediate reaction too, but you know who often gets the blame after a defeat - that's right, the trainer!

Everyone knows that was the ref's fault! Audley was just getting into his rhythm.

I was at a Tyson Q&A in Newcastle last month. Had just had my pic taken with great man and admittedly had had a fair bit to drink. I dropped to he floor and began doing 'The Worm' and Tyson's security team were non too pleased (though Mike himself was clearly loving it). Spoon is watching all this and comes over. My mate then asks if I will take a photo of him and Witherspoon. I take the camera, position myself and after having them smiling uncomfortably for more than 45 seconds, proceed to turn the device on myself and take a snap before staggering off shouting "Bruuuuuno, Bruuuuuuuuuuuno!!!" By all accounts Witherspoon got a bit irate and attempted to come after me. Had he done so I'd have given him some left hook to the body, left hook to the jaw action.

Yes mate, and I'd have been right behind you kicking him after you put him down!!

I think they've been doing fine, haye does the right training for his fighting style and fights in a way thats suits him. What does he need to learn to beat the klits? explosiveness, s
peed and power is what will beat the klits not ring tactics. If he blows them out he wis, if it goes long he looses end of.
Wlads a goner imo - i think vitali thinks its a dangerous fight for wlad too thats part of the reason he wants the fight first.
I disagree and agree to an extent!

Sure speed and power alone is enough to beat Wladimir ala Sanders. But from a tactical standpoint - what if a fighter were to take away his jab? I mean he might as well call himself Wladimir "Mr.Jab" Klitschko - in some rounds he is all left hand. I think if he wasn't landing his jab on Haye after a few rounds he'd be mentally sh*tting himself as these days he's so heavily dependent on it. Also, when was the last time Haye floored someone with a left hook? Its an under-used weapon in Haye's arsenal IMO. The way he shook Valuev with it proved that it effective when utilised.
I agree but i actually think all hayes training has been geared up to slip the jab and land explosive flurries, in hayes last 3 fights how many jabs have actully landed on him, i know wlad is the jab master so its not quite the same, but its still impressive.
I also think haye has been working on his left - thats the punch that derailed harrison and wobbled valuev.

Anybody that believes Haye hasn't improved since his amateur days simply never watched the guy box as an amateur. The two styles, amateur and pro, are worlds apart.
As great a fighter as he was, does anyone remember Witherspoon's work with Clinton Woods? Erm, yeah...
