Yes, Katsidis is some fighter; win or lose he really comes prepared in excellent condition, has the heart of a lion and never ever gives up. There are so many and looking at the lists brings good memories. Salvador Sanchez was my favourite fighter before I'd seen him box as I'd read that he really wanted to be a doctor to help the poor. It may have been PR bull but I read it after he had died and then I saw his resume and details of his fights and he was my hero; (I even had my hair permed in a monsterous imitation, bad in 1980 Mexico terrible in 1992 England).

To narrow it down I'll go with those I'm old enough to have seen live on TV.

McCallum: Old-school tough guy with tremendous technical ability. As a younger man his evasive movement was so natural.

Tyson: He had massively underrated balance and co-ordination. In terms of pure strength I'm sure a few of his opponents could've outdone him.

Hamed: Leaping lunacy made to work through amazing reflexes. The magic carpets were fine, but it was his confidence that captivated many of us. He made most of his opponents look like plain-trunk workers in the WWF/E.

Mosley: Driving on past the chemist, he was the most accurate puncher I've ever seen at his peak.

Pacquiao: Again, let's drive to Holland & Barrett and talk about his espousal of boxing's greatest values. Whatever he may or may not have done to tip the scales in his favour before a fight (sorry!), I think he's proven himself one of the most fair-minded in-ring boxers after Floyd Patterson.
