Don't matter about what his personality is like, the kid can box and that's what the game is all about. Just seems like hurt pride talking to me. Immediately after a fight it's understandable. If he refused an interview it would have looked even more like sour grapes. Maybe he should have said "the best man won" through gritted teeth and left it at that until he had come to terms with the loss.

These comments are most embarrassing and difficult to read.

DeGale was in his 9th pro fight and won it easily.

How can he then be referred to by Smith as what he expected him to be and that he was nothing special?

He outclassed Smith in every possible way and Smith should be thankful that the referee stopped the fight when he did, in order to spare him further pain and embarrassment.

Looks like Smith can't face the forums after being outclassed by degale.

he can dig, but has mimicked degales style along with haye's & gives up too much time, which degale relishes.

groves would make it a great fight.

He has decent power but I don't see him landing anything worthy on DeGale. I think it would be really one-sided.

I'm not so sure about writing Groves off completely. I've said from early on that I favoured Degale if they fought, but it's being talked about as though it's a foregone conclusion.

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing Groves vs Smith and Degale vs Anderson on a doubleheader before meeting. I'd rather we didn't sacrifice 1 of our 2 hottest prospects in a domestic pleaser if the momentum's all swinging in one guy's favour, i.e. if Groves looked like shite against Smith and Degale shone again vs Anderson.

I mean, what if they fought and Degale did do an actual number on Groves, to the point where it seriously dented his progression. A bad knockout or a serious knock on his confidence.

I'd say at the very least Groves needs to be coming off a convincing performance before making the fight, otherwise I'd rather see how far they can each take it on a european and world level, individually.

Shame Smigga has given him so little credit. Awkward was about the best compliment he could give Degale. Fact is he controlled the fight and didn't really even look to get out of 2nd gear. Really really impressive showing and much more to come from Chunky I'm sure. Exciting times for British boxing!!

degale has lapses were he switches of & smith caught him out but never capatilised the divy :!:

also did you see degale had thrown over 200 punches more then smith pretty impressive

anderson was a known puncher at 81kg in the ams with his left hook.

I guess you're right, but as a Groves fan I would like to think he has learnt from the Anderson fight. But I have little confidence.
