might make for a good fight in a couple of years. Problem is warren need to start putting Special K in the ring with some live opponents - maybe by putting his name out there with khan it will get some good names wanting a crack at him.

Everyone talks like kel is a novince but he's had 1 less fight than khan and non of them have even remotely been anywhere near world class opposition.

Both Press Association and BBC rate each of both Kell and Amir in the top five pound for pound in the uk.

Boxrec's Horse's top 30 P4P had Kell at number 11 before the Kotey fight.

So Kell v Amir if far from being a mismatch. The only thing lacking is Kell's profile. So i cant understand why boxing fans would say 'this fight doesnt make sense because lacks profile'.

What boxing fan cares about that? We want to see good, even fights between our best boxers, which is what i would suggest we would be getting here.

It's be a great fight and one I'd be picking Brook in, but Khan's got plenty of unfinished business at 140. Kell needs to get himself a World title for when Amir moves up.

As someone has said this is just Warren generating publicity for Kell

One is a world champion coming off a great win against solid opposition and the other has not fought anyone of any real substance (bar beating Jennings on a cut) so yes, it is a mismatch.

Brook should be gunning for the likes of Khan, but he isn't deserving of a shot yet.

He also comes across as an arrogant twat, from what I've seen on TV. Maybe he's different off-camera. His comment about being disappointed he didn't leave Jennings "unconscious" on the mat for his fans still rankles with me.

When someone who isn't from Sheffield comes in with that argument I'll take them seriously!

Appreciate your support of the guy, and he is a talent, but he would be well out of his depth at this point. Why would Khan look at Brook as his next defence when he is targeting the likes of Bradley and co?

It's three steps back.

I agree and its a shame as he has the talent to be as famous as hatton, calzaghe etc but doesnt get the same promotion as they did. I think one of the problems was when fw signed him he had just signed khan who had just won a silver medal so all the attention was on promoting him and kell got pushed aside. plus when fw had the tv deal with itv kells fights were never shown on tv....oh sorry my mistake a one second highlight of his fights was shown at the end of the bill. :TU:

Brook's unfortunate that he always seems to be on the same bill as FW's "Olympians", so he's always just a sideshow.

Maybe FW should put some time & investment into his fighter and put him top of the bill (e.g. in Sheffield), instead of these cheap publicity stunts which, quite frankly (ahem), make him look stupid.

If I was Khan I'd be charging royalties.

I cannot think of a single reason why Khan would want to box at 147 when he is so comfortable at 140.

F rank Warren would probably offer him a lot of money as Khan is established PPV material now regardless of who he fights and in England would sell out a stadium. I still dont understand why he left Warren as he was packing out arenas in England for low risk fights and making bundles. Warren even brought him back from the Prescott anihalation. Why is it that these fighters feel they have to go with an American promoter to have big fights in America? Naz topped the bill at MSG with Warren and earned fortunes.

As for Kell Brook, has he made a big enough statement to earn a fight of that magnitude?

I would like to see Kell Brook v Junior Witter.

I don't think he's really helped himself with his behaviour outside of the ring.

He's a decent fighter, clearly above domestic level but we've seen nowt else

I dont think he comes across as arrogant on tv - but then i do know him personally.

i think you're being a bit precious regarding the jennings comment, mate. lots and lots of fighters, including david haye (of whom i am a massive fan) have said a lot, lot worse

Brook isn't really on the world stage yet and Khan is a world champion at a very deep weight below, I think Khan should clear out Light-Welter before venturing up to Welterweight because realistically he could still fight Bradley/Alexander winner, Ortiz/Peterson, Judah. I would like to see him fight at least 2 of the names mentioned before moving up.
I don't think it is a very deep weight - perhaps it is because it is Khan (I'm being ironic off course it is no win Khan) but look at the criticisms for the two rumoured opponents.... Apart from the champions - who is out there.

These are what the critics are saying.

Victor Ortiz - drew his last fight, is 1-1-1 in his last 3.

Peterson - drew his last fight.

Judah - Looks shot

And thats it..... no one else is even worth mentioning....
Bradley, alexander, maidana, ortiz, kotelnik, holt, peterson, matthysse, mccloskey, judah, cayo, olusegun, etc ....i dont know what your definition of a deep division but that certainly is!All those fighters are very good without being elite.

wadey wrote:Well the British Boxing public would want the fight, and it will definately sell.

The problem is now that Khan believes he is Box Office, would he risk a fight with an unbeaten up and coming pro who at the moment is not Box Office?

I think after his recent fight, and the fact he took a bit of a beating, I personally feel he will take an easy option this time and hand pick a respectable name, but one that he knows he is more than capable of beating.
I dont think the british public would want the fight, most of the british public have no idea who kell brook is!Its not like the Haye vs harrison fight whereby harrison even though he's done little as a pro in all honesty still has alot of name recognition due to his olympic gold medal and his salesman skills!Lol

I dont think frank is doing anything majorly wrong in regards to kells career,at the end of the day Frank will invest into kells career what he think's he's worth ie when he signed degale he got a 1 million pound contract due to his profile through winning the gold and also his future chances of making big money. The only thing Frank really needs to do in my opinion is step up the level of competition,I dont know matthew hatton or jan zaveck or senchenko or something.Even the eliminator against mike jones which was mentioned awhile back.

No. They sparred together at Crystal Palace - Brook found it easy.

Khan beat Nicky Smedley on points when Smedley had only had a handful of fights.
