Good fight this we need more of these competetive matchups filling cards rather than prospect v Latvian should be a great scrap 50/50 imo but a loss for either isnt the end of the world bar a devestating knockout. May the best man win

The opponents need to be got one way or the other though and sooner rather than later and it might mean splashing a bit of cash

I agree but into days market there are not enough dates to go around so fighters have to take whats on offer, Promoters today have fighters under contract and have to keep them working and not of us have enough dates to do this so we have to make fights that mean something and will move our fights forward. Even those this is over 6 rounds the winner will go forward so both fighters has a lot to gain and lose , Both these fighters are good guys and if times were different we may not see this fight being made and i believe we will see more fights being made that the fans did not think could be made and this can only be good for boxing as we go into 2011. A very happy NEW YEAR TO ALL YOU BOXING FANS OUT THERE......from all at FTM.

i think they have made a rick on the 6rounder :!:
ash has youth & freshness & aint the fastest starter. power gets down to buisness fast :!: top class amateur & will nut you smash you on the floor hit your plums into your tonsils
![[icon_e_biggrin.gif] :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)
D
they should be praying power aint got much left as this is a gamble & power has pride which he protects with his life & ash will be in his first war.

I like this matchup, but defo would be better over 8-10 rounds territory. Both the fighters are at a stage in their career where they shouldn't really be doing 6 rounders in my opinion. Power has a good chance in this down at the lower weight after fighting so much at higher weights. Should be a great scrap!

Former British bantamweight champion Martin Power fights for his career against young Cheshunt gun Ashley Sexton in a six-rounder on the Sam Webb-Bradley Pryce undercard in Brentwood on February 5.
Power comes off a remarkably courageous effort to wrest his old title from Darlington's Stuart Hall in the summer, conceding in the 10th round of a real war, but the fact remains that the 30-year-old Londoner has now lost six of his last eight contests and desperately needs a big win. He drops down to super-flyweight to face Sexton, 23, who held the rugged Shinny Bayaar to a 12-round draw in a crack at the British flyweight title last time out but looked a bit lucky to preserve an unbeaten tag, although flashy Ashley undoubtedly has talent and whacks a bit. Moreover, the 12 rounds will have brought Sexton on.
He looks likely to outbox the strong, aggressive Power on the way to the points.
