I understand the angle on which this would sell, but I'd like for Prescott to have done SOMETHING since he spanked Khan. It's like Rhodes getting a world-title then giving Blundell a rematch. If a small Mitchell can dominate Prescott then surely Khan would, especially the Khan that's moved up in weight.

Precott did nothing before he spanked Khan, and if anything, he is more experienced against higher level opposition then he was then. Regardless, it's not skills that he's going to use if he's beating Khan, it's his punch and his style, plus the fact that he will already be in his head after what occurred last time. It's another chance at the big time for Prescott and I think he'd be really up for it.

An unbeaten Columbiam, with a puncher's record, that no one new anything about, is probably a better opponent than a single dimension fighter, who has been shown up a few times in fights and has proved nothing since his breakthrough win. It will sell, but I would prefer to see McCloskey facing Khan, rather than Prescott.

I'd like to see this. As Khan's career progresses a rematch with Prescott will become less likely as Prescott has done little since. In Khan's own eyes and the eyes of his detractors I think a win over Prescott would be a significant achievement and I think not taking the opportunity would be an opportunity missed for him. If the worst were to happen and he lost again he has still proved he is a legitimate world class fighter and would be able to put it down to the fact that Prescott has his number, he could come back from it.

Their careers have gone in opposite directions, but I agree this would be a seller and if I were Khan I'd be screaming for this match to avenge the only defeat on his record, a la Lennox Lewis.
But Lennox had to fight McCall and Rahman to get his titles back. Let's say Rahman had lost in the interim to David Izon (who he originally wanted to make his first defence against) and Lewis had picked up a world title in impressive fashion elsewhere - Lewis later defending against a since-beaten Rahman wouldn't be nearly as valid a rematch.

Prescott is nowhere near world class, yet he absolutley anihalated Amir Khan.
Khan is a terrific fighter and has excellent footwork, but he is one of the most fragile title holders i have ever seen

i think theres an issue that prescott wasnt interested in a rematch when khans team approached him not long after the ko, but now khans a belt holder prescott wants the fight. (I read an interview in the SKY with Khan where he said that prescott originally turned down a rematch). Prescott probably thought after koing khan his career would be on the express train.
i'd personally begrudge giving him the fight if that is the case, if i was khan.
But the fight would make sense and khan will destroy him with ease.

Easier said than done. If this is really a stay busy fight, why not fight Prescott and avenge the loss? I'm hoping that HBO and Sky put their collective foot down.
Would you really rather see him face McCloskey?
No I'd prefer him to fight either Petersen or Ortiz who've proven themselves at world level or near world level.
Ortiz is allegedly fighting Berto and Peterson is asking for too much money which the Khan camp seem to say about everybody. Rematch Prescott and be done with it as it seems like everybody thinks Khan will annihilate him this time
