Sorry lads not in on the joke. I'm a touchy little git at times. I have too put up with the odd pleb questioning my ability down to my record . I'm an extremely proud man. My bad orbtastic.

johnnygreaves wrote:I also agree with bigmark in that you have to be regular. Someone who has say 3 or so fights a year with good prep time ain't really a journeyman. Also don't like the other guys idea about the last time you got stopped . Any good fighter can get clipped. I haven'tbeen stopped since early last year but, I'm out on sat & if I got cut, cracked rib etc, that would mean I'm not eligible. That won't be fair. I'm britains busiest boy. Always boxing .top lads
Good point. Was trying to find a way of keeping the ones that you know are more likely to go the distance against the good prospects. Others have since put it across in a better way

Have to agree you with above you can have too many criteria or it gets too complicated.

For me the only one i'd question is the <50% win ration...seems to high to me you may get fighters that are on brink of area titles with these kind of records ?

Good luck.

i think 30 fights could be too high , if you put those sorts of limits then if someone pulls out injured or something it could be a struggle to get a replacement at the right weight etc , id say just a minimum of 10 fights with at least 6 fights in the last year or so , and to have lost more than twice the amount theyve won , so for example someone with a 4-12-0 record would then be acceptable as would someone with say an 11-56-2 record . (just to make it clear those record are just random numbers and not based on anyone specifically ) i know in general you may think youd never struggle to get someone thats had over 30 fights but your talking about needing 10 of those guys for this ( 8 plus 2 reserves)

Yeh I suppose your right mate. My brother put up a list on the other journeyman Thing on the board. Have a look at that. I think they all qualify as journeymen, and there is a few others I can think of. I'd not be too worried about lads with 50/50 records entering as I will have plenty of prep time. Plus a three round shootout don't leave you too much time to sit back and look pretty

Peter Buckley should present the trophy, from all accounts he is a top man; he should be guest of honour.

Glynner,

keep it simple with the crietria: at the end of the day you will know which names stand out as being the ones who should be included (like a 6th sense type of thing). Personally I think it would fab if you could get Buckley out of retirement to ENTER it - even if just for that one last loss. He deserves a spot in there if you ask me, or at least the chance to say "no".

Col / T.M.K

ps: should two BM mugs wish to make their way to my house, I'd be chuffed mate. :TU:

Nothing to do with me John, Danny Thorpe started the group up, he deserves the credit. All I've been doing is thanking people for joining up and asking them to spread the word, y'know, let them know that their contribution is valued. Manners go a long way in life, don't they mate. Absolutely mental the way it's kicking off though.

No, it was just a joke about the mugs they give away with the subscriptions. It's a recurring joke on here whenever people talk about subscriptions etc.

I've seen you fight a few times live, you're no mug but sometimes you do play to the crowd a bit. I saw you get stopped in Doncaster on the Jamie McD bill the other month but can't actually remember it too well - Just that the lad opened up fairly early and the ref saw enough. Can't remember if it was cuts or not?

Anyway, once this tourney is done and dusted, maybe you could have a seniors tour - Get all the old centurions out of retirement - Bramhald, Clarke, Buckley, Booth, Gargano, Bonson, Casey, Taylor, Matthews & Rafferty etc......I jest, before anyone says they wouldn't get licensed etc.

Which reminds me, I was trying to remember Mark Dawson's name and looked at Mark Bowen's record to get it and remembered he fought the pair of them - Whatever happened to the Bowen brothers?
