Can i ask how many of you have build a heavyweights career or for that any other fighter, no British fighter wanted to take the fight with David so this way he will be in the commonwealth rating, As for Fury next fight the BBBof C told me that they would not let Francois Botha in to fight David so we will be asking a question this morning from them

Bloody hell - I had to listen to this line of crap reasoning on Bunce's show (which I will never listen to again by the way, regarding Paul McCloskey) 'They haven't put on a pair of gloves so what do they know?' And now this? 'You haven't built a heavyweight career so what do you know' Well of course not! Doesn't make an opinion less valid does it. In my opinion Machima is a good opponent but there are many heavyweights in the states who could give Price a decent workout and I am sure not scared to death of him - the search doesn't begin in England and ends in Latvia does it.
And all you boxing people turn up on here to read about yourselves so we can't be talking shite 24/7 can we!

Unbeaten David Price gets in with South Africa's seasoned Osborne Machimana in a heavyweight 10-rounder at Brentwood next month (February 5).
Scouser Price, a giant of a man proving hard to match (Liverpool's answer to Tyson Fury), turned pro only two years ago, compared to Machimana's 11 years ago, but did brilliantly as an amateur and has rattled off eight wins in the pros, six of them early. The 27-year-old Price is living the dream whereas Machimana wakes up amid a swirl of losses to such men as Mark Potter, Albert Sosnowski, Shane Cameron, Livin Castillo...
This is a clever match because Machimana loses every time he steps up, bar one notable exception when he smashed over-the-hill golfer Corrie Sanders in one round in February 2008, since when the 32-year-old Machimana has boxed just four times (three wins), one of them a heavy seven-round defeat at the hands of Zambia's heavy handed Joseph Chingangu in June 2008 in which he was down four times.
Nevertheless, Machimana holds the South African heavyweight belt, a belt he retained with a stoppage in his most recent outing 10 months ago, and clearly whacks a bit at 18-6-1 (13). Potter belted him in three rounds, by the way; otherwise, Machimana has stuck around in his losses.
Price looks likely to thump out a decision.

The man does have a point.
It's easy to say ''nobody will take the fight'' but what conditions were imposed?
Crap money? Options?
Get some tough guy from the States or something, the nobody will fight excuse is poor and isn't valid.
I'd imagine almost anyone would want the opportunity to knock over an Olympic medallist, after all.
I just hope this opponent isn't pregnant like Polakevic was. Tony Booth would be 8-0 against David's list of opponents so far..... for an Olympic medallist who is probably on good money it's unacceptable.

For the record, machimana is not 6'5. He's about 6'3.
Anyway what happens with the Antonio nel fight if he gets stopped?

I always rail against this "logic" too. Like you can't say a movie is crap if you've never directed one yourself, or criticise an album if you're not a professional musician, or say a meal tastes bad if you've never run a restaurant, etc etc...

Osborne is fired up for this fight. His inactivity has been through no fault of his own, and after speaking to him earlier - he is going to give Price the fight of his life.
Look for the upset!
cheers

Does that include Tom Dallas? I think that could be an interesting fight, that a lot of us would like to see. Although as it stands, I don't think Machimana is bad opposition at this stage of Price's career, vastly ahead of anyone he's fought so far.

No conditions were imposed and the money was very good for the rounds it was as much or more than most get to fight for a british title, is very easy to come on here and state things but untill you work in boxing and have to deal with people who have ego's and believe there fighter is the best thing since brown bread is very hard to make fight's, and they know if there fighter is stop he could be out for up to 45 days so the manager/ trainers could lose out on other pay day's. If boxing was that easy do you not think there would be a lot more jumping in to work in the world of boxing.

So do a football team throw a young kid who they just sign for let say a few million from a lower league right into the first team. We know every one has an option but you should weight up everything before you start claiming, would you go into say bmw and tell them how to built a car or walk into Man Utd and tell Sir Alex's how to run his team ????

Actually it's not me who's telling you how to run Price's career, I'm just saying the logic of "if you haven't done it yourself, then you can't comment" in invalid.
