However my only problem is Chunky is going to now operate at the very highest level so soon into his professional career.
We'll have to see - Sartison himself is not the very highest level..... depends on what happens with the WBA situation - will the enforce the situation.
Khan didn't fight the highest level opposition on immediately winning the WBA title, and Burns hasn't since winning the WBO title.
A champion can sometimes go many many months without having to fight what was the NO1 contender due to - injuries, boxing politics, stepaside money etc etc etc - however invariably he does and should fight an opponent in the top ten which is I believe a basic rule - Chunky Degale only turned professional recently and as exceptional as I think he will prove to be - I believe sometimes a fighter needs lesser quality fights to iron out those problems he shouldn't make against fighters at the highest level.

In order for the WBA to sanction a title defence, the opponent must be in the top 15.... easily manipulated though.
Haye has been champion for around 18 month now - after winning the title, still yet to fight what I would call an elite Heavyweight. Ricky Burns will have fought 2 top 15 WBO ranked fighters after his next fight.... has he faced an elite fighter though?

This would basically be a European title fight with some WBA bauble on the line. Should DeGale win, it would probably get him crashing the top ten world rankings.

Wow, good tough fight, considering Sartison made it into the 12th against a prime Kessler and is coming off a very nice win (former european middleweight champion and world title challenger Khoren Gevor). Degale can beat this guy but a tough ask for your tenth fight! I guess this means the Groves fight is dead in the water then? :(

If this I true DeGale is being moved a lot quicker than most of W-arren's prospects have been. Like others I'm wary about him being thrust into the world picture too soon, not necessarily in terms of this fight but in terms of future expectations. Wouldn't want to see him become another David Reid.
