Great stuff from Warren. Full credit for putting this one together. I just hope we don't have more of the dreaded pull-outs...

Doubt this will be PPV just because its 2 weeks before Khan's fight and sky would show Haye and Khan close so they wont show this and Khan close, but id much rather buy this than the Khan fight

:bag:

It will be a chance to erase the question marks for Kev after under-preparing for the biggest fight of his career but I hope he comes in top form Murray is relentless.

The Clev/Braehmer sounds like a nice match of styles for a good fight

Sportingbet to there credit are up already.

4/5 MITCHELL
EVS MURRAY (Too Big)

7/2 Murray by Ko/tko etc

Also you can get 8/5 the fight does not go the distance, looks the pro bet to me, both will be fired up, got to be a war, struggle to see it going 12 to be honest.

Thought the above might be off some interest

Really? 'Cos to me it looked like a fuckin' great big series of left hooks from Katsidis got to him. I could be wrong though, an occasion might've got to him in between one of those left hooks landing & him flopping up against the ropes, I might've blinked & missed it.

Maybe he means Mitchell was more inclined to get involved in a tear up to please his large fan base at the event Datsue? I dunno, I personally would credit Katsides with that and not the occassion. I know people will point to the Prescott victory as proof that an on form Mitchell can outbox these guys but for me Prescott is miles away from the top guys in terms of ability. I don't think Mitchell is ever going to be up there at the top level myself, good little fighter that he is, if Murray is as good as some of us hope he is then a late stoppage with Mitchell taking some very heavy punishment seems the most likely outcome.

Absolutely shocked that Murray isn't favourite for this! I'm a big Mitchell fan though so think i'll have to skip that one.

Sporting bet have messed up in the past more than once when they price up early though. 20/1 for Derry to win prizefighter my biggest win yet, and Rigondeaux 1/2 to beat Casey looks like a massive cock up.

Is it the beginning of the end for Dagenham's Kevin Mitchell, who challenges Manchester's John Murray for the European lightweight title on a big show at Wembley on April 2?
"Mighty" Mitchell - unconventionally - jumps from a heavy three-round loss to Aussie warrior Michael Katsidis last May in London straight into a daunting fight with Murray, even if he was plagued by an eye injury after Katsidis. One loosener at least would have given Mitchell a much better chance against Murray, who is unbeaten and has just signed a major promotional deal, so it goes without saying he will be looking to impress, although you could also argue Mitchell will be fighting for his very career and that makes him a very dangerous animal indeed.
This has all the makings of a war. Murray goes forward and throws a ton of shots - two-fisted attacks like Katsidis - while the fiery Mitchell also likes to feel the knuckle part of the glove land on his opponents and hits quickly and sharply. Oh yes, both men really know how to dish it out.
Frankly, I feel that two big fights back-to-back is asking too much of Mitchell, a precocious boxing talent (at his coolest) as he showed by outboxing Breidis Prescott over 12 rounds in 2009 and a man who is hardly working out his pension at 26, the same age as Murray. However, Mitchell will have been out 11 months by the time of the Murray fight, and the relentless Murray, trained by the excellent Joe Gallagher, as long as his fragile skin stands up, is my tip to emerge as last man standing.

What a cracking night this could be, great opportunity for Clev & Murray to showcase themselves on sky too.

Can't believe Murray is priced up at evens, i'll be having a chunk of that

What a great bill. Frank has certainly thrown down the gauntlet for Mitchell to step up and show he's ready to make up for the disaster last time out.
I can understand why the bookies make it evens ( though Murray looks the fave here ) as Kev was beaten by one of the world's elite last time, and Murray's been nowhere near that level. Could be that Murray wont have the punch to trouble the usualy rock solid Mitchell, and maybe Mitchell has the boxing skills to make it a difficult night for Murray. Got to be UK fight of the year.

Bad boy Brahemer ( make that nut case ) always looked a massive prospect to me at SM, but he's had some very tough fights over the years - Clev will be the favorite here, but they're very similar: solid chins, like a tear up, and not too hard to hit. Brahemer looks to have the bigger punch though, and Clev will not want to be taking too many of those.

I wouldn't say Katsidis is one of the elite. Every time he has stepped up to world level he has been stopped. Mitchell hasn't faced any other opponents that you could argue are clearly better than Murrays and the extra thing is Murrays have all been at the weight

Katsidis has won a lot of fights at world level, and only gets beat by the elite, so I'd have him up there

Shame Cleverly isn`t seen popular enough to attract the Welsh crowds :(

Will be going to this. Clev and Murray both win for me :TU:

Murray has to jump on Mitchel quickly. Mitchel has the bully about him - bully him back and he will dissolve.
Braehmer is dangerous, but perfect for Cleverly. Clev stops him by mid-way.

I am a fan of Katsidis but looking at him honestly, he's a nearly man who'll probably be remembered more as a gatekeeper of the division. In each division you have the elite fighter(s), paper champion(s) and then the next level of those jostling for position to get their next shot which is where i think Katsidis falls, Peterson is another example in the division above

Definitely going to go to this if the bill holds. Knowing FW's recent 'bill crumbling' properties I won't be purchasing tickets until I see all four on the scales the day before!!!

Okay, but please to be explaining who Murray has beaten that's half --no, actually, a tenth-- as good as Breidis Prescott?

Plus, two of the guys Katsidis has been beaten by are full-on greats. Like, you know, greats. Multi-division, multi-belt, title-unifying greats, FFS. Complaining that Kats has fallen short of that level... Is bloody ludicrous, imo.
