Fantastic performance from Crolla, the lad has a touch of class about him in and out of the ring. Well done to Joe G aswell, another champion in the stable!

Crolla is some class boxer. He looks better and stronger at lightweight. John Watson's a game and fit lad but Crolla boxed the angles and just got stronger (+ Crolla; what a defence!)

And that was a proper KO punch.

Great fight! Another excellent SFN!!!
What a performance that was Crolla is a truely class act, a real old school fighter. Sort of reminds me on Chavez really relaxed, works his way in with a nice jab and rips in the shots inside to head and body.

Watson simply didnt have the power and strength to hold crolla off and it showed.

I think the power shown by Crolla in recent fights has been really impressive and is probably as a result of all the good strength work they do in that gym with Kerry Kayes still on board.

Nigel Wright looked very good at lightweight, though Jamie Speight was a brave lad I can't see why he was in there with a man like Wright. Nigel can box, fight, punch and is class; if he's staying at lightweight he'll be in some big fights. Speight showed a lot of guts and has talent but it was man against boy really.

I know speight looked completely out of his league,i wonder who's managing the guy because whoever it is made a poor decision

lefty - Wright is a top domestic class box fighter with power and a really good chin; Speights' management made a cock up there.

Crolla did look excellent; a nice style to watch as well, rolls and straight shots and then a hook. Very good fighter, he did really well.

Crolla v Rees will be a dream bout.

(+ it shows how good a result Gary Sykes got against him; Sykes is not done because of the Buckland loss)

Lightweight and superfeather are superb divisions; class boxers who will perform; respect to em :TU:

Hope your Johns well, have a rest, lick his wounds and come again, thought it was a great fight, John battled but on the night thought Crolla boxed brilliant, and showed he`s a class act with his celebration, calming his fans down till John got up. I`m sure your gutted at the min, but I like your John and think he can still be in the mix :TU:

What was the reasoning behind matching Speight with Wright?Did Speight just want a decent payday on a Sky show or did he genuinely think he was going to beat Wright?I really cant work that one out,its not even as if Wright has ever looked to be on the slide,he has been competetive in all his losses in excellent class and was coming off a win against Alex Arthur! I looked at Speights record and all his wins have come against journeymen and they throw him in with a seasoned pro who has had a draw with the current British champ at the weight above!Who manages Speight?

Firstly, all my praise is reserved for Crolla in the other thread.

Now, what went on with Watson? As much as I like Dave Coldwell as a person, I'd get rid of him as a trainer right away. Watson looks clueless when he gets hit, he hasn't got a back-up plan, he starts off slow and his stamina was poor. These are all things that have shone through in previous fights, surely there should have been improvement??

Watson has ability, it's there to see. He needs a change in camp though ASAP.

It was a silly match wasn't it.

I am sure that halfway through the 1st round Wright had a look on his face like he couldn't believe his luck. He was a full league above Jamie in every department and looked a division bigger.

Jamie did well to last as long as he did; Wright is a very capable boxer, a domestic contender and with a bit more luck could get a belt.
