You can criticise anyone for anything, but you never come off well for doing so. If Haye retires then so what? There are plenty of boxers and fights without him.

It seems to me that Haye lives in a bubble in which no-one dare suggest to him that his legacy as a heavyweight is quite insignificant. He has the power, ability and charisma to set the divison on fire and yet he is about to squander his talents by failing to do what is necessary to secure the two fights that matter. If he retires without facing the Klitschkos, boxing history will view him as an entertaining footnote.

Why does he keep banging on about his mandatories? Who cares? If this is his last year in the sport he hardly needs to keep the sanctioning bodies happy. History won't care that he beat mandatories like Ruiz and Povetkin. He is hiding behind his mandatories, shuffling along in his comfort zone when he could be racing towards greatness.

Povotkin is an excellent fighter; the bout will be good. Haye is not ready for either of the brothers and probably never will be.

Haye is not avoiding greatness; he wants to make the most of his ability and position without getting a career (life) threatening beating.

x 2 - he's either the saviour of heavy weight boxing as he claims or he's not.

He has everything that would make people want to watch his fights, but he needs to give us some epics. He could do it in 3 fights (povetkin, wlad & vitali) and be legend in the UK and a big name world wide, or he could fight povetkin and wlad and be a big name in the UK - anything less and only the boxing fans will remember him and alot of them will be harsh critics..

He's got to decide what he wants and postponing his retirement by a couple of months, if he manages to beat one of the klits to fight the other - is something he owes boxing and his fans imo.

If he isnt going to fight either klit he may as well pack up now - he earned enough money from his fans fighting Audley. theres no point taking more of our money for below par fights.

Povetkin is a good step up, but if he doesn't get some Klit, then history won't look back kindly on him, IMO.

For me povetkin is the fight that would anounce him to the world as a geniune champion at Heavy weight if he wins in style. I really want to see that fight happen - but it only serves its purpose if it the prelude to him fighting the klits.

Im not to fussed about seeing him fight chagaev, but if he's the manditory theres not alot haye can do about that.

Povetkin is definitely better than Mormeck.
