Danny's comeback is being labelled:

"Something in the basement".

Previosuly, Danny put them down to hunger pains and had another packet of French Fancies but now he thinks it may be his long lost desire and drive.

If the basement title doesn't catch on he will go with his new sponsors preference:

"Schott - Keeps you warm when you're out cold".

Great exclusive by BS! Bet they didn't name a source
No I didn't. I asked two people who were pretty strong bets to know for sure and went with that. I didn't speak to Danny directly so decided it was worth the risk. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. I've had some stories that have panned out recently but don't feel the need to point those ones out and bounce all over the show like some kid who has just discovered what his special purpose can do. Nor do I send articles through to 'Scene that have 'exclusive' in the headline. It is not my MO and hopefully people who know me on here will appreciate that you can't hit the mark every single time.

Good luck to Danny on his comeback. I hope he earns well from it but can't see it going anywhere.
Might not hit the mark every time, but it shows the risk of an internet culture that prints gossip as stories in desperate need to get in first. Imagine if the promoter had been someone like Warren - website publishes story saying fight is off without checking facts with either promoter or boxer.
That story was published last Tuesday when presumably Danny was on his way to Germany, already had a licence and an opponent. Yet it is only a 'rumour' that he he is fighting, same phrase used by Spencer Fearon on his facebook status saying the fight wasn't happening.

Williams will weigh 20st! He shouldn't come back, he's probably been on the Mr Kipling diet. He won't be in any type of fair condition!

This is daft! I can see it now... after a comeback fight, Williams vs Harrison! Please, God, NO!

Can I ask, and I don't want to sound daft but is it 100% verified that the Brixton Bomber did fight at the weekend. Its on boxrec with a tick beside it, but (and no disrespect intended for the editors who do a tremendous amount of work) I would like to see pictures - there must be some available.

There seems to be no post fight quotes or anything. I'm not Facebook Friends with Spencer Fearon - is he admitting that it did happen?

Think he was fighting at around 272 - when I checked here, according to Boxrec. Around the same weight for the Skelton rematch... a rubbish weight for Danny.

I asked two people who I know for a fact are close to Danny and went with it.

You're making a lot of assumptions. I don't feel the need to 'get in first' or fire off prematurely. I take my time and try to find out the truth. For example, a recent non-story about Nicky Cook fighting Mitchell arose purely from Nicky saying he wanted the fight on Facebook and a thread on this forum started by a WHU fan, or at least someone with East End allegiance. I sourced this via two people who are in the know, wrote a piece and sent it to BS hours down the line. In this case checking a fight said to be 'on' with people who work for the promoter of both men. I also did the same thing for a recent promotional signing, showing patience over a period of time so as not to produce a popcorn fart.

It isn't a risk of the Internet culture, it is a risk in general. I heard a story recently from three sources that I could have ran and published but I stayed patient and sourced it. I now have the full SP, quotes and all, and have sent that one through to 'Scene. But I guess you won't be in a rush to come on here and point that one out. So I will do it myself for once.

Ditto for Watson-Crolla, Sykes-Morris and the training changes made by recent fighters. I didn't cream my pants after hearing whispers. I approached the promotional firms/individuals and sourced the stories. Given that I have one hour per day, at best, to do all this chasing/interviewing/writing up etc I'd say my hit rate is pretty decent.

You're coyly skirting around the issue of whether I used Facebook as the sole source for last week's article. I'd have more respect for you if you manned up and made the accusation directly instead of using this straw man to do it. We could continue our chat from the other morning as well.

PS If the promoter had have been Warren there wouldn't have been a problem, I'd have dropped them a line and got a quick response.

I'm not skirting around the issue, I have no way of knowing. I merely pointed out that Spencer was stating that and then a story appeared.

Whoever you did check it out with, obviously either didn't know or lied. I'm not trying to launch some personal attack on you, I just think it's quite amusing

The tick means that the boxing commission (in this case, in Germany) have provided records of the bout, so I'd say with certainty that it happened.

I am FB friends with spencer Fearon but He denied it leading up to the fight, Danny obviously didn't want any publicity for the 1st outing....Heres a link that confirms the fight happened and intentions to continue, for further news check tomorrows boxing news as they are running a piece with an interview.
