Another big name fighter well past his prime. I actually don't mind this - in beating Aguilera, Tarver showed he is still made of the right stuff and Green himself is 38 and coming off surgery. Interesting matchup.

I dont see what all the negativity is about. Tarver is only a few years older than Green. Danny is 38 its not like he is a 28 year old in his prime.

Tarver is a good boxer, and has good skills. If Greens isnt 100% fit and over his injury he will lose IMO.

There has been a bit of media banter that Mainevent would like to host a Garth Wood (if he overcomes Mundine again) versus Danny in early December 2011.

But Garth's next hurdle is a couple of week's away and Danny will need a medical OK to fight again and there is still a lot of water to flow under such a matchup's bridge.

How many champions do you think are around at any one time? By the way, Tarver, who decided to skip cruiserweight ( he weighed 221 pounds for his last fight) is not being mentioned by Green. He is looking for a challenger from Europe or North America for a defense of his IBO title in a few months. Some fool brought up Garth Wood but Green does not want to beat up somebody 40 pounds lighter than him. Wood is Mundine's problem.

Green would destroy Wood.

i think regardless of who greens next fight is its a good thing for boxing in australia. i am surprised he said that he doesnt want a soft opponent or tune up fight before another big name. he would have a long way to go to get back to where he was in novemeber.

There are three of four cw champs and green is not one of them. Mainevent is interested in green v wood. Didnt green recently beat up a former middleweight who was semi retired and fresh out of rehab? Will he defend his title at cw or will his opponent have to come in at "Dannyweight"

he fought flores with no catchweight i cant imagine he would try and impose it on anyone else.

also other than probably huck the other champs would probably make more fighting green in oz dont you think? are any of the other champs house hold names in their country >?


also siaca campaigned not only at middle he beat mundine at super middle and im sure he has had a couple at light heavy too. plus he fought him to stick it in mundines face that he beat the guy who beat him.

Manny Sciaca had one fight at middleweight. He beat Anthony Mundine for the WBA Super Middleweight title and fought for a light heavyweight crown. He rarely fought under 177 pounds. Tarver is now a heavyweight and Green said on Fox sports yesterday he was not after him. Keep up.

Flores was paid to come in at a certain weight. Go over to the eastside forum and have a look

Cruiserweight limit is 200 pounds. Both Green and Flores were within 5 pounds of the limit. Rocky Graziano was five pounds under middleweight limit when he won the middleweight title from Tony Zale. Dick Tiger was under 12 stone when he was light heavyweight champion. Bernard Hopkins has fought at catchweight of 170 pounds fighting for and defending his Ring Light Heavyweight title.

What the hell is 5 pounds in 200? Flores would have put more than that back on after the weigh in.

it can effect people differently. ricky hatton struggled alot when fighting at 147. I think green should just go back to 175. The competition is better there anyway

He seems more comfortable at cruiserweight. He does not have to struggle to make the weight.

Flores seems to have more of a problem with the WBA than with Green. After Flores beat Darnell Wilson the WBA gave Wilson the shot at Arslan for the WBA title rather than Flores. Green was prepared to fight Flores.

anyone got any clues to who it might be? I realy doubt it will be huck as he wont fight any where other than germany and green wont go there again. cunningham would be a great fight .

That's what I think he should be fighting at light heavy weight, if you want to get technical he hasn't really fought at cruiser. The last fight was close to the cruiser limit, but the ones before that were light heavyweight without drying out on the day of the weigh in
