Jones doesn't want to fight him anyway. That match is dead. Problem is Warren pushed him towards WBO title, only for Pacquiao to decide to keep it. The IBF champion doesn't look great, but would probably need a lot of paying to come to Britain, without being able to sell fight to the US.

i only wish I thought you were exaggerating, here.
Nope.

FW wants a title for Brook, seems the easiest option to me.

It's wrong on a number of levels but I doubt FW cares little for Rhodes these days, those days are long gone now as was evidenced when he found out by reading on the internet that other fighters had been parachuted in front of his WBC ranking etc etc.
I agree with what your saying Orb...Rhodes must be right pissed off if it does happen, two boxers(both unproven) at the weight below getting a shot before him...Shocking :o

Bundrage will wreck Brook; Kell hasn't proven himself against the top men in Europe in his weight division. Taking on a tough world proven man like K9 7lbs up will do his health no good.

Before any of Kells army of admirers jump on me  ; I accept that Kell is a top prospect and looks the business. However; he's not fought his way to a World Title shot at Welter yet. He's not been hit hard by anyone yet.

Bundrage has had it harder than Brook; he knows how to dig in and I'd put my money on him getting to Brook late on.

this is true, although it might be equivocated by the fact that Bundrage is absolutely rubbish by world standards.

I honestly don't think that Kell has proven he should be in world class.

Bundrage has dragged himself there; he is not the most talented but has been in tough bouts, prevailed and got there.

Boxrec have him at number 4 light middle; he can't be all that rubbish; Brook is in at number 12; 7lbs below at welter.

It's not up to Jones if the fight is mandated, which it was looking like it might be? Pac is super champ, they will have an interim or regular champ before summer is here.

It is up to him. He can fight for another title. He's with Top Rank and doesn't need Brook

Jamie Moore will never have that sense of fulfilment.

However, Herol Graham v Jamie Moore would have been a decent fight wouldn't it?
on his day graham would have played with him, but does anyone remember graham vs frank grant?

WBC no 4, WBC already looking like their title is tied up for the next 12 months.
WBA no 2, with that belt held by an unknown Ukranian who doesn't fight in the US, an interim champ etc etc.
IBF no 3, with a completely obscure Solvak who has yet to fight in the US holding the title and with guys ahead of him.

I'd say he's pretty short on options tbh.

I can remember that fight :( it were a sad day in the Fox household. Grant was a beast at the time though and Herol looked worn and tired. The Herol that smashed Rod Douglas (anyone remember him? he was a hard nut) would have done Frank Grant in. The Herol that beat Pazienza would've beat Frank too.

Frank was a machine that night; I watched on telly. A very strong man. A pal of mine sparred him and said he was a real handful and very fit.

A very weight weaken Graham turned up that night.....he won nearly every round then just run out of steam.....To even think Jamie won have a chance is a bit silly

i've not heard anyone associated with brook say they want the fight with K9 or that it has even been offered (though apparently Frank W mentioned it in his column?)

i agree with those who say kell needs tougher fights at 10'7 as he builds towards the ultimate goal of becoming a genuine, long-standing world champ at that weight, his natural one.

Paul Thomas had Graham losing only one round......But Grant turned that all round...

Rhodes deserves a chance. How many Boxers ranked in ring mag ratings and cant get a title shot? Politics ruining his opportunities. Key to boxing now is not talent its more how much the promoter can make from you. Some UK promoters use bullying tactics and make fighters feel they the only option. Think Rhodes will beat the man with no VISA hopefully in MExico so all his fans can drink Tequila whilst wearing sombreros. Then the match with Alverez must happen. If he cant take out hatton who is a welter then think rhodes could take his power as for most his career he been taking shots from middle weight. :box:
