He was the European champion less than a year ago, and was considered good enough to fight for the WBA world title less than 4 months ago in Britain.
How can they consider him to be unworthy of fighting for the British title? They allow many inferior fighters to challenge for the title.

Good news for fans of the near legendary Olympic Gold Medallist. He's targeting either UK Champ Dereck Chisora or English Champ Tyson Fury for his comeback.
Thoughts?
I'm torn myself. While Audley has let me down once too often, it'd be a good scalp for either of the youngsters. Is he still with Hearn? Would Henessey or Warren want to put him on a card?
I doubt whether Fury or Chisora will be losing any sleep over this.
Would anybody even be daft enough to promote a fight with Harrison now?
He's had so many chances & he's let down fight fans on so many occasions, I just don't think he'd be able to draw any type of crowd.
In fact, there's more chance of Noel Gallagher buying Beady Eye's new album than Harrison drawing a crowd to one of his fights.
He is beyond a busted flush these days.

We will all watch it, we know we will. Were a gullible lot us. A PR scalp if anything for both Fury & Chisora. Means nothing to us, but the casual fan will think it is some kind of achievement.
Anyway, Audley will only fooking win and put himself back on the road to a title shot knowing our luck.

If Sky put on Audley Vs Delboy or Fury and it had a half decent under-card. It would do very well on Sky Sports 1. No doubt about it.

I think I would even give him more of a chance in a rematch with Haye than against Fury (not that I am anticipating great things from Fury).
Where is the logic in that post??
Hold on you had Calzaghe v Kessler as a draw.
Question answered
Logic in it is that Fury is 6 foot 9 and seems to have a good chin - simple really. Audley wouldn't even have a punchers chance vs Fury. Audley has relied on people coming in with poor defences and catch them on the way in. Fury doesn't need to do that, he can dictate the fight on the outside.
Styles makes fights and all that.
I would give Steve Murray more of a chance against Amir Khan than I would say John Murray.... doesn't mean I think John Murray is better or beats Khan - style makes fights. Haye is not perfect, he makes mistakes and he has weaknesses. Fury is not perfect, he makes mistakes and has weaknesses - just his weaknesses are not his whiskers.
And saying I give so and so more of a chance, doesn't mean to say I tip them to win. There was no logic in how Salem gave JC one of his toughest defences - Salem was one of JC's worst opponents, but stylistically gave him more problems than better fighters like Lacy, Veit and the no vowels one.
You can always press the ignore button if my posts on the fight game upset you so much.
I understand the styles make fights thing Stu - I just can't see how you can justify Audley standing a better chance aginst Haye than Tyson Fury. It diesnt add up

Its not like I would give Audley any chance really at all against Haye - I did see what happened (and I called a KO victory anyway) but I would give many fighters a slim punchers chance against Haye.
Remember there seemed to be alot of resonable pundits who I don't think were paid to hype it up geniunally giving the big man a chance against Haye (Jamie Moore for example) he is that vulnerable.
I think many lesser fighter, fighters not even in the top 10 could out work Fury, could get inside him and out work him - but work rate and Audley are hardly two things that go hand in hand.... and whilst I think Audley would be more likely to land one shot of note against Fury than Haye - I don't think one shot would KO Fury... and that would be about it.
Every puncher stands a slim chance against Haye, thats his appeal. Audley only stands a punchers chance against either IMO - and if one of them has a good chin, then he doesn't even stand that chance.
I think Chisora beats Audley every day of the week, but I give Audley more of a chance against Haye than Derrick - cause Derrick isn't as concusive a puncher. Derrick small frame would play in David's hands.
Punchers are Haye's weakness, and thats the ONE thing Audley has a bit of.

If Audley Harrison fought Tyson Fury which I would happily watch, it would just be a masscre in my eyes. Fury has got the reach, the handspeed advantage and would can switch from head to body very well, and a pretty good jab. Despite criticisms of over his weight in the past we know that Fury has got balls and heart a plenty which showed in the second fight he had with John McDermott. But you can argue that it might a High Risk Low reward fight because Fury loses couldn't he lose his mandatory status to fight Derek Chisora for the British and Commonwealth straps, but you can see Harrison and Fury hyping it up, Harrison saying that he is rebuilding his career after he froze against David Haye (which I think he did) and Fury is one of the rising stars on the British scene and having starching Harrison a former gold medalist and European Heavyweight champion, it might give him more kudos.

I would disagree with you about Chisora being small. I would say he's a fraction shorter than Haye but with a much bigger frame and not fat either. Having seen him up close I can say he is absolutely massive, with huge feet and hands. Obviously he'll be giving away plenty of height to someone like Fury but he is just as big.

It was height and reach that I was referring to - we haven't really seen how Chisora can do in which he has to find his way inside. Sexton was bigger, but not the fastest. Danny was another (in this day an age) relatively short heavyweight.
Yeah... I should have said Short as opposed to small.... my bad.

As pitiful as he was vs Haye, there's an enormous gulf between Haye and the likes of Fury and Chisora. Just because Harrison lost to Haye does not automatically mean either of them will beat him, let alone "whip him into a whimpering mess". It would be a big step up for either, especially Fury.
I don`t see it as huge step up for either of them. Fury has fought McDermott twice and I rate him as no worse than Audley. Chisora has fought Sexton twice, who again is no worse than Audley in my opinion.
Who has Audley actually beaten? Williams once and Sprott with a last gasp Hayemaker (after losing to both of them first time out)
He lost to Rogan and Guinn. He has no real pedigree as a pro. Admittedly, neither do Chisora and Fury, but I still side with the outcome being Audley whipped into a whimpering mess, after pocketing another wad of cash.
The guy just does not have it. He has no heart for the fight game, at least that`s how I see it.

Maybe both would beat him, and you may even be right about the manner of victory. Time will tell. But I just don't think losing a world title fight automatically means he will lose against relatively inexperienced domestic opposition.
As for being a step up, I stand by that. Even some of the guys Harrison has beaten would be a step up for Fury and Chisora. For example, would you disagree Sprott would be a step up for them? And you can put caveats against Harrison's win over Sprott all you want, but the fact remains he
did win, fair and square. And similarly, there are factors that detract from the value of Harrison's win over Danny Williams, but even then I'd say the Williams he beat was better than the version Chisora beat.
Sexton is, of course, a fine scalp for Chisora, but aside from that, there's nothing on either man's record that's even close to Harrison. McDermott is decent enough, but I'd still rank him a few rungs down from Harrison. I'd also make him an underdog vs Sprott and Sexton.

Yes, I think this is more of an "appeasing the masses" display than anything. If any other British boxer lost a
world title fight - even as conclusively as Harrison did against Haye - especially as a big underdog, it wouldn't disqualify them from domestic contention. What if, say, Magee loses badly against Bute - loses disgracefully, even? Would anyone say he shouldn't be allowed to return to domestic contention? Or what if Eastman and Witter decided they wanted to come back to the UK for British title shots? I doubt anyone would oppose that, and their form is worse than Harrison's.

Thai boxing or regular boxing?
I have been to a Thai boxing show in Thailand (Hua Hin). We were as close as you could get to the ring and it was a brutal spectacle. I remember thinking how is it possible for these little guys to take so much abuse.
Great night, beers served whilst you sit there. There were 5 fights in all and I think we paid about £7 for the ticket.
We went to Vietnam from Thailand and I went to boxing show in Danang. It was a messy affair though, real amateur stuff with badly outmatched opponents. Still, the Vietnamese are a class act. Apart from the Thais perhaps, the Vietnamese were the nicest people I have ever met. They have been through some real shit in their time, but they just adapt and get on with life. Always a smile, always willing to help.
I saw a show on BBC the other day about a social housing facility in the UK and some of the people who lived there, I remember thinking "what a waste of good space" Put`s it into perspective to me.

At the risk of going against everything I believe in, I can't understand how so many of you think Fury beats Audley easily. Yes, Audleys stock has fallen - but that wasn't as a result of him demonstrating a lack of boxing skills, it was because he simply didn't show up, lost his bottle and didn't throw a punch. He clearly demonstrated he is a long way from having the required elements to legitimately challenge for a world title, but Tyson Fury has shown little more than rudimentary skills. He is big and mostly out of shape, he doesn't possess a huge punch and doesn't have a great workrate. Technically, he comes nowhere near Harrison. His best win was the rematch with John McDermott, and that's about his level at the moment. In his fights with Power, Page and Nascimento, he hasn't demonstrated any signs of clear improvement and development. If (massive if) Audley comes in on form, he boxes Fury silly and takes a shut out points win.
Problem with Audley is that it's impossible to know which version turns up - the simpering coward of the Haye and Williams I fights or the tuned in boxer-puncher of the Williams II and Sprott II fights? Even the Audley that lost to Rogan would be more than enough for Fury.
Chisora is a different question. He's aggressive and fights to his strengths. I also see him out-psyching Audley in the build up, swarming him early and KOing him mid to late.
And both are fights i'd watch. I can't believe all those people claiming they've been let down by Audley so they wouldn't watch!! What kind of nonsense is that? Both are competitive fights and would be great staging posts for two of the UK's burgeoning youngsters.
Hmm - feels strange sticking up for Audley. I'll try not to do it again.

The tuned in counter puncher against Sprott in the rematch..... oh come on thats a bit much - did you hear the score cards prior to the last minute KO..... He was around 6 points down, how was that tuned in?
Its actually the Sprott rematch performance, the bits inbetween KO's in Prizefighter and the Rogan fight is why I don't give Harrison a chance against Fury. All of these guys much smaller than Fury also.

He fought with one arm. You deny that then you didn't see the fight. He was tuned-in because rather than give up, he stayed in and found a winning punch. The Harrison of the Haye fight would not have found that punch, or even looked for it.
I don't want to get into a debate where I have to defend Audley - that's not what I meant, but so many people seem quick to assume that Fury wins easily - I find that quite astonishing. Maybe Furys BS hype machine is working far better than Harrisons at the moment, but in the ring he remains crude, ungainly and technically flawed.
