What happened to the Kevin McIntyre vs Adnan Amar welterweight British title eliminator?
No idea mate. Date and venue had been set. Was going to be at the Raddison up here but was called of two weeks before hand. Main event instead was Brawley v Green. Want to see McIntyre again to be honest
At least there is a British welterweight champion now.

Maybe Watson will make a voluntary against McIntyre, there aren't many better options.

If Degale fights this weekend, then that will only give him 4 weeks to prepare for Groves. I cant see that happening.

John Donnelly is deep into preperation for his April 9th showdown with the excellent Stuart Hall so I can't see that show being scrapped.

As someone already said, this fight would have to be PPV to justify the huge purse bid.

Really hoping this isn't 9 April as I'm at a stag do in Liverpool that weekend. Weekend before or after would be perfect as I want to go. Fancy Degale to stop him.

That said, you're right, not like a promoter to let someone jump the gun on them in the publicity stakes. Like the venue though; just down the road from Hammersmith where Groves is from, not a million miles from Harlesden, DeGale's patch, with a speedy train link direct to Willesden Junction. Seems like some thought has gone into this. Let's hope the fight doesn't collapse for some reason or another.

Too right Glyn, I'll be going to my first fight in a long time if it all holds together. I'm living just down the road so no excuses. Haven't caught boxing at the Olympia before, just beer festivals and music.
It's virtualy on Groves door step....should be a hell of a night. Shame they wont get John O'Donnell on there too, as he's another local boxer from that neck of the woods.
Ditto, my old manor. A very west London fight, excited by it. Music? Er, I saw Procol Harum there once, does that count? My excuse is that Thin Lizzy were further down the bill, I bought tickets but they didn't show. Hope that isn't an omen.

I'll be amazed if Degale/Groves goes ahead barely a month from now.

Hope this is put back, i'm away that weekend and really don't want to miss this one.

As for the May 21 Loftus Road rumour, isn't that warrens Cleverly show at Wembley? It surely can't go ahead without tv coverage so unless we hear something about a change of date from Maloney i won't be convinced

From the story on Sky Sports......

"The date circulated by the Board fits the deadline, but it seems unlikely the bitter rivals will meet that soon.

Neither Hayemaker of Warren have confirmed they expect the fight to go ahead at such an early date and a request to push the title clash back could come from either party."

something to break up the week and talk about in work other than football

that said if your actually going to the fight can prove more hassle

Likewise. Let's just hope they all come off. If I was a better man, ad go Price, Bomber, Degale and Simpson.
Yeah interesting fights and same predictions

It's okay for TV but as you say, a right pain in the arse for anyone wanting to travel any distance to watch the fight live.

A bit incongruous, I'll give you that. They were both part of The Great British Music Festival, a two-dayer some time in the mid '70s. Wasn't particularly great, Procol Harum and John Miles were the headliners from what I remember. Lizzy were indeed good live, though they weren't on this show in the end. Saw them loads when I used to work for the security at Hammersmith Odeon in the late 70s and early 80s — anyway, we digress...

Groves-DeGale won't be at Olympia on 9 April anyway, it seems — that was just the date and venue Dave Coldwell gave to the Board in order to stay inside the get specific inside 28-days stipulation. From what I've been led to understand, the fight will be part of FW's Cleverly PPV, with Sky covering the £400,000+ purse bid for Groves-DeGale — I'm told they'll be doing the same with Frochy's purse for the Johnson fight, which will take place in America later that night and be on the same PPV. Should be a damned good night's boxing, well done Sky.

ok cheers Glyn

Now that's a worthwhile night of PPV fights. I'm a little confused though (ill-informed) if Sky are paying the purse for Groves/DeGale then what did it matter if allegedly or Hayemaker won it? sorry if blindingly obvious.

I thought Dallas v Rogan was an eliminator too.
