When did you stipulate both men had to be, 'boxers?' You asked for fights involving copious amounts of skill on display from both men.

Off the top of my head, the match that possessed remarkable skills on behalf of both fighters and resembled a masterful chess match was Leonard-Benitez.

I thought Leonard/Benitez was a technical masterclass on Ray's part, never saw it as close as most others. Leonard was a step ahead throughout, barring an offensive surge Benitez had circa rounds 3-5. He just beat him to the punch more often than not, almost consistently out-jabbing him. A prime example of the addage "speed kills". And say what you will about Benitez's defensive skills, but I thought Leonard excelled in that regard as well. Benitez didn't take more than 3-4 rounds for me. Leonard out-boxed the boxing master comprehensively, in my opinion.

Leonard won comfortably in my book, but Benitez was infamously under-done coming in, & the accidental headclash further brutalised his chances. He struggled with the cut throughout.

Leonard-Benitez was the best stare-down I've ever seen. Cosell was impressed, too.

it was as boring as i saw it last time. wilfred won the stare
down but that was it. almost throughout the fight he threw
those punches that are not meant to land. short jabs, no body
behind anything. stalking without punching. short flurry after
the knockdown, half a round action after the cut. but that was
it. sugar ray was smart enough not to walk in too aggressively.
finally, when benitez - out desperation - had to open up he was
taken out.

one judge had leonard ahead by only two points. quite frankly
i do not see how you could possibly give benitez more than two
or three rounds. his punches were simply too short all night.

Pryor-Arguello I. Was very skillful boxing notwithstanding the controversy.
