I'm a bit stuck on predicting this fight. What is Kevin's state of mind like? His fight with Katsidis was over in a flash, so it shouldn't have been too damaging. I don't think he's one to get stuck on the fact he now has a loss.

I give the edge to Murray, but I'm expecting it to be very competitive until one of them starts to show dominance over the other. Maybe a cut will dictate the tide of the fight. It'll be a war.

i don't think Murray hits as hard on a one-shot basis as Katsidis does, so Mitchell could get more time to get into the fight than he did that night.

G0mez wrote:Ive heard the argument for both fighters purses. And to be honest, I do kind of think Mitchell has a bit of a case for more money.

This fight is being held in London, Mitchell is local and has already crammed a few thousand into West Ham for his fight.

When you consider Khan got hardly anyone for one his fights recently at the MEN or Bolton arena, you have to give him some credit for that.

Sure Katsidis as the opponent was a huge draw no doubt, but people did come to cheer Kevin.

But on the flipside - Mitchell messed up his camp and by all accounts blew his big chance. He was utterly destroyed by Katsidis and plenty think Murray will grind him down and stop him in this fight too.

And that is the problem. If you get blasted out on prime time PPV - then everyone gets to see it and your value drops through the floor.

Combine all that with what is in the kitty to put the show together in the first place, and you have this current scenario. allegedly must appreciate that a Manc and a Welshman in London ain't going to bring as many supporters in on foot as he thinks. Unless of course, that Manc is Ricky Hatton and the Welshman is Joe Calzaghe.

Without a marquee name you need a popular local fighter.
I would guess the crowd at Khan-Kotelnik was 6-7,000.Not really "hardly anyone".Katsidis-Mitchell was on normal Sky Sports too,so even more peole will have seen it.
Fwank did bring Hatton down to London when he fought Roswell early in his "reign".It was very succesful and maybe he is hoping a similar performance by Murray will switch him on to the London crowd.
Murray,as champion, deserves the bigger purse. If Mitchell had beat Katsidis he would have been fighting for a lot more now,in fact in the days leading UP to the Katsidis bout,he was talking up a unification(of the interim and proper!) fight with JMM!
