Great review.
"For lunch I had soup. Then I had bread. Then I drank water. Then I went to play. It was good. I liked it." reminded me of Joe Calzaghe's autobiography.
Seems a lot cheaper
HTTP://WWW.YOLTBOOKS.COM than what you paid though, no idea if it's legit.
Seems legit. The odd thing is that I realised AFTER ordering, that the paypal link on Meldrick's main page has it listed at $15, rather than the 2nd link which has it listed at $25. I can't even be bothered to tell them.

Blimey, just goes to show, you should NEVER buy a book that doesn't have legit reviews ( and I don't mean reviews by his mates and fellow authors ) especially when it's "self published" !
Sad to say, from what I recall, I don't think Meldrick is all there these days - he took far too many punches in his career. But what a fantastic fighter he was in his prime.

Thanks very much for posting the excerpts

I wouldn't be laughing if I had paid for it though. I thought the Lewis Hamilton autobiography was awfully written but this is on a whole other level!
It's even better when you look at the reviews on his website:
Travis Nichols, New York, “When you guys said “no punches pulled” you guys really meant it. I did expect some controversial reading, but I got more then I expected. Great book.
Very intelligently written”

When I read the more passive sections of the book, it helps if I read it in my head using ebonics. I can sort of get into the flow and the use of different tenses makes sense.
Just wait 'til I get to the section about black Jesus and laser beams.

I have a lot of people to thank to helping me undertake this tall task it took a lot of time in patience. My two lovely sister Maureen and Stacey, who type and prepare for hours without compensation who didn't mind at all, and was happy to assit me. I really appreciate it so much. Thank y'all.
Individual Spiritual Brother if the Faith, who also help me type and prepare my manuscript, I owe a lot of Thanks to them, they encourage me to finish the book and assist on every level.
High priest Haradapyah and his son Haradapyaba 13 Sheild General Shamarawn and to the nation of Israel. I say Shalam Kayashla rise Israel.
I would really like to thank my good friend and partner, Gumersinda Vidot [the dude I paid via paypal], and his lovely daughter, Alaina Leslie, who helped me prepare the book for printing, it took a lot of time and work. I appreciate their patience and diligence constantly going over the manuscript, finding and correcting errors [really? more work required I think!]. They are both part of my team and will play an important role and take part in my success"
Orb, you are a legend I can just see you foaming at the mouth while hammering this out mate :)

Shame cause I think a biography of Meldrick would be fascinating reading.
I've heard very much the same as you MW about Meldrick's health.

& I can't even work stepping up into this post, because judging from those excerpts Meldrick, his ghost-writer & everyone else involved in any way with this book have already
stepped the fvck up about as far as it's possible for anything or anyone to do.
In fact, they may have
stepped up so far that we're going to need a new term to define it.
Where's C-P when you need him?

I hate to say it, but I really didn't want to cheapen such a great topic with a step up reference

lenny, i felt that way about the Japanese tsunami thread, you have no way of knowing how many times i was on the verge of a 'step up' reference, there. but as with this thread, some things, believe it or not, are too serious to be profaned by my favourite Evanderism.
I would say, however, that the brain-doctors in taylor's part of the world clearly need to step up.

My favourite 'Evanderism' is the constant reference to the need to 'make adjustments'. Such a need clearly does not apply to Meldrick's tome which is perfect as it is.

We both slept around with a lot of White nymphomaniacs with porcelain skin who had narcissistic behaviour with their prurient mind and their promiscous nature to seduce a Blackman. Satisfying their curiosity to be dominated by a Long John Silver once they went black they never went back. Screaming their erotic orgasm as their clitoris was gushing out wet bursting open like a pregnant woman when their water breaks. Their raunchy attitude never getting enough jamming our pricks down their mouth, choking and hemorrhaging on our warm cum clogged in their throat. Their eyes roll back in their heads while dilating ecstasy. Worshipping your penis lke the only God they know. When I got tired of busting my nut, she wanted takeout so I let my quintet off friends have the leftovers like a buffet dinner. She was so hungry and starving for more, so much greed. She wanted dessert, a chocolate custard banana split with cream filling, dipping her head back and forth and dripping and exploding your load on her face. She licked her tongue on her lips sucking on the cream of delight with her fingers. She likes her sex rough and hard. She wants it up the back, sticking it in the rear, she cries ecstatically with joy thirsting for an orgy.

Photos...that's something I meant to mention. The photos in the book are an odd choice. Some of them look like they were scanned in on a really low res scanner i.e. pixellated. Some of them are just really pointless (really bad polaroids from the olympics of Meldrick with "Olympics fans"). Some are clearly from 8 x 10"s he had done, but they're all ripped and show signs of damage.
