That were a good fight; I'd not seen Kays box before and he was really good. Liam Walsh is a very good, fit and intelligent boxer; I enjoyed the bout and would watch both again. Best of luck to both.

Sorry to bug guys, but did the fight end before 1 minute 30 of the 10th round. Boxrec is being ridicolously slow in updating

boylesports have it down as a loss but they also had rios v acosta under as a loss when it beat it by 14 seconds

Appleby is looking like a good test for Walsh next. If he can overcome that then it is surely time to put him in for the british title. He needs more fights. His last fight was back in October when he beat Maxwell Awuku. More regular bouts and he will go far. If he carries on fighting every 5 months then who knows.

There are plenty of good British opponents to fight, so I don't want to see him fight any unkown Africans. I would quite like to see him fight Laryea though.

Why would he do that? There is nothing in that fight for Walsh. He's already beaten Awuku (who beat Laryea!!). A good British opponent will be next on the card and after that don't be suprised to see him fighting for the British title.

I was at the show so couldnt see sky could anyone tell me what fight was shown before the Title fight?

The fight finished 1.05 in to the round,so you beat it by 25 seconds

You're talking about world title fights, I'm a huge Walsh fan and even I am not looking that far ahead. I think he will get more credit by beating a good British prospect like Appleby than Laryea, but that's just my opinion. Let's get the British title out of the way and then we can look at world level :)

Laryea beat Appleby fairly clearly, so Walsh won't get more credit for beating Appleby.

If he can beat Laryea and a fighter like Appleby, Truscott or Morris and look good doing it, then why not go for a world title shot? Will a loss in a world title fight against Burns do him any harm?

As far as risk/reward goes, I think it might be better than going for the British title.

seen some 77-74 but there was 9 rounds completed

i had it 85-85

I gave Kays 3 consecutive rounds, so I had it 87-84. Really entertaining scrap both guys gave it a good go but Walsh's extra bit of class just showed

Good on you mate. I am one of those that must eat his words today, you came to fight and showed real passion and heart. I will be looking out for you after this fight, a good entertaining boxer, just fell short on the night to a really good kid.
