He rejected the chance to prove himself vs Manny Pac in Oct/Nov 2009.
He also fought Marcos Rene Maidana, who is the #4 in his division. Even Ali fought the odd Alvin "Blue" Lewis.
The Maidana form line is hanging by a thread and will be dead and buried later
when Berto smashes Ortiz.

Khans mentality and team is what lets him down...
They are greedy and unrefined... They are pulling the wool over our eyes.
Undoubtedly he is a very good boxer, it's just that he is such an unlike-able chap!
I found a couple of half decent streams... and its up on most torrent sites already.

Might not be the correct thread to put it on, but the REASON why team GBP were not so enthusiastic about Bradley vs Khan is simple...... KHAN IS SCARED OF BRADLEY - No I am joking, its because Bradley cannot sell water in a desert and absolutely STANK THE PLACE OUT when he had his chance to shine - each time he has had the chance. Bradley's fights are dull and often end in controvesy.
Ortiz is an easier fight to make, and a far easier fight to sell. Khan was involved in the FOTY for 2010, Ortiz involved in the FOTY 2009, and a contender for FOTY 2011.

Excuses for Khan not to fight Bradley already? How unexpected. I don't think the talent at 140 is particularly great but I do think Bradley is the best if a a bad bunch and will beat Amid in a butt filled fight.

Whats the bigger money fight? Ortiz or Bradley? You don't see any calls for Pacquaio or Mayweather to fight Bradley. People would still rather see JMM fight Pacquaio again.
Khan's proved himself IMO, he fought the guy people never thought he would - fought him in the country in which Maidana feels more comfortable in also. Bradley, sadly is dull to watch and his fights nearly always have controvesial moments.

So let's get this straight, Khan has beaten at light welter:
Andreas Kotelnik
Paulie Malignaggi
Marcus Maidana
Paul McCloskey
Dimitry Salita
Hardly a murderers row but not a bad selection of opponents.
He is fighting Bradley next by all accounts.
Aye, should be shot IMO

It is terrible, and misses the point about how easily Khan was winning that fight. They can't all be wars.

Seems a few are bitter about last nights ending.
I didn't see it but from all accounts, Khan was coasting and had win every minute of every round. McCloskey got cut and it went to the cards. It happens.
This forum is embarrassing when Khan crops up. New members joining just to slag him off sums it up although I suspect they are disgruntled McCloskey fans.

that mess of a fight, vs an opponent he was never going to gel with, did little to enhance khan over here. if he's not coming back for a while, you'd have to say it's not a big deal.
as the bradley date apparently looms, you have to laud him for taking on the #1 light welter, but also have to wonder if the fight is a bit of a liability, given that either man could nut the other.
what are the odds of it being a no-contest or technical decision?

In what way was McCloskey - who spent nearly the whole fight trying to lean out of range and throwing very few punches - helping to make that a good fight last night.
It takes two men to make a fight, not just Khan. Was its Tyson's fault that his fight v Bonecrusher sucked?
So, you would rather watch the normal Saturday night shit that Sky serve up than Khan v Maidana/Bradley? Sums your dumb opinions up. Of course, Sky had planned to show Berto-Ortiz as part of their presentation of Saturday, but fucked everyone over on that too.
Enjoy the McCloskey-Lauri rematch. Of course, McCloskey and Hearn didn't offer that guy a rematch as he knocked him out while the Italian was looking to touch gloves.

did you see the khan fight? did you see his interviews? two very different story's dont you think? he was running like a bitch in the fight but in his interview he was talking like he had just destroyed mccloskey in every round. correct me if im wrong but is the cut the only mark on mccloskeys face? then it wasnt a massacre was it? khan is a fraud and i would rather watch friday fight night on espn than watch him run for 12 rounds against bredley. did you see madana's last fight against morales? what does this do for khan that a morales who is still ring rusty and coming up from lightweight fights a very close fight with the guy who is meant to be the most murderous fighter in the 140 division. khan isnt all that and needs to come back down to earth or he will fall down with a terrible BANG

Very good point

I feel that Bradley is the very best of a pretty light bunch; I admire Bradley for how he's kept his feet on the ground. Amir has a 'camp' and endless hangers on; he's not Sugar Ray Robinson FFS. I've seen last nights bout and McCloskey didn't get bashed up and it were a crap stoppage. Paul weren't going to win how he was fighting but he showed he weren't a push over.
Khan is a European level boxer with high World Class hand speed ad nothing else.

hahaha ste is a good friend of mine but that doesnt disguise the fact he has got talent, nigel wright is imo abit boring, mccloskey lost every round im not saying he didnt what im saying is he didnt get murdered like khan was chatting after the fight(just incase you get abit mixed up,i use the word murdered as my own not that khan said it)the only mark on his face was the cut cause by a clash of heads. take my comments how you want mickey this is a boxing forum for people to post their opinions,if you dont like my opinions or how i see things your perfectly entitled to not like them,im not a politician who is raming my opinion down your throat saying you have to agree im just letting of steam and seeing who agrees and who doesnt like most do on here

i totally agree with this post, khan is a good european fighter with a high profile team behind him,he fought kotelnik who was the worst of the bunch at 140(dont know what warranted a title fight, must of been for a win against a barrera who was over the hill and a super featherweight like most of khans opponents back then)khan could be a much better fighter if he controlled his punches abit more, take a look at his opponent and not throw punches with no meaning,he is that quick he wants to get his punches off and get out as quick as possible, just my opinion mickey1975

Rest assured that it's not just your opinion. Khan is fantastically fast and has a great eye but is not a man who 'boxes'; he does not think his way through a bout. Every round is much like the last and he seems to speed his way through a bout. That is not being a World class boxer IMO.

You could cut the loathing with a knife on this forum.
If it's any reflection on the rest of our countrymen, then it's no wonder Khan's fu*ked off to the states. He's well shot of this shithole because let's be honest, he's never going to win these types over, not in a million years. Why would he want to?

How can you say "take away his speed he is nothng".Its like saying take Shavers' power away. Its not going to happen and,yes it is his biggest attribute thats going to make him extremely hard to beat for 99.9% of fighters. He also has heart(Maidana) and skill(Olympic silver medalist, multi titled junior).Didnt he beat Ste Williams in his aborted ABA run?

yes he did beat williams before his fight with kindalin then went pro,and the same thing happened in that fight, judges with parkinsons holding their finger over khans button at ringside. what im saying regarding khan's speed is that is all he has he doesnt have a good chin he doesnt have boxing skill's he just has speed. i thought with him going to roach he would control were every shot went rather than just throw them with no meaning like i say mick just my opinion we dont have to all agree with what you say mate

Amir Khan is a man with alot of self confidence and ambition which should be encouraged and not criticised, he has said that he wants to fight Tim Bradley in a big unifaction amtch with the WBA/WBC/WBO up for grabs and Bradley is provisionally penciled for a fight in late July according to his record to defend his belts, and it is up to the Promoters to get it done and to satisfy the demands of us the fight fans who at times feel like are being done over.

going back to the fight, the thing with referee's they are like football referee's their too inconsistant look at paul smiths cuts against dodson in the first round of a 12 round fight and the referee let it go he got 2 big cuts in that fight, look at morales eye last week they let that one go and he couldnt see out of it mccloskey gets a little nick and it gets stopped.its plain and simple khen is getting protected the best the authorities can and the bbb of c will do nothing about the stoppage just like the wba will do nothing like they done nothing with robin reid vs sven ottke when he got ripped off and the ref warned reid in that fight for punching sven it makes me laugh and no wonder more and more people are stopping watching this great sport when referee's are ruining fights and robbing the fans who pay money wether its ppv or rinside seats we are the paying fan who deserves more
