I thought they were photos of the Appleby horse fair

Seriously though, all that for a fighter who did not win a round and was stopped - albeit perhaps a little early - on a cut. Let's not forget it was not Khan's fault either, he's not the ref.

What makes anyone think Paul would have turned it around when he didn't look close to doing it in the first half of the bout.

That said, nice to see fans getting out to support their fighter. I'm sure none of them were there for the beer :)

...and this could be the best thing to happen to his career.

Rather than losing an embarrassing one-sided points victory he now has loads of people supporting him who didn't before because they feel he was treated badly because the fight was stoppd. Lots of publicity etc

Yeah - completely agree.... those scene are support are impressive? When's the last time a Boxer has had these types of scenes

As someone said above, Hearn needs to capitalise quickly. Those people on the streets aren't really boxing fans, its a community, Dudey is a likeable and popular fecker from a good family and married into another good well respected family. He commands a lot of goodwill and has tapped into something I haven't seen in a long time.

We hosted the afterparty in Bar38 and turned away 200 people on the night. The place was rammed but you could just tell that these weren't your regular fight goer - no coked up, shaven meatheads - just regular people, no hassle, no attitude, no chavs. It was a pleasure.

I'd love to think that they could get Zab Judah but thats unrealistic. Maybe they could bill McCloskey and Ajose Olusegun as a WBC eliminator or Bredis Prescott, Volodymyr Kravets or Cuban-Italian Brunet Zamora if they want to force their way back in to the WBA but more likely is that Michele DiRocco that he was going to fight for the European title or one of the "average Brits" (Daws, Theopane, McAllister, Limmond) or the unfortunately named Ville Piispanen who has the EU title.

Good post, and nice to see a community getting behind their man, we need more of that in boxing.

Prescott is the fight the should make. Wouldn't cost a fortune. You'd back him to win and then they could bait Amir even more

Exactly, this sense of injustice has done him a massive favour. I agree with the guys saying get Prescott over, that is a big fight and sells well to the general public.

If they want to get a rematch, get some decent names over to Ireland to build interest in it. If he beat a couple of decent names, in say July and September, he could possibly force interest in a rematch. If he goes the other way and has a couple of European title fights against people no one cares about, then he won't.
