How do you work out that Bugner "nearly done" Frazier? The English referee ( and sole judge) Harry Gibbs gave it to Frazier 6-4 and Bugner was knocked down in the tenth round.

I don't think fighters should get in strictly for being famous (and Bugner is hardly famous from a global perspective). It is called the Hall of Fame, but the people inducted as boxers usually have accomplished A LOT in the ring, like beat other hall of famers or several guys who were world champs or top contenders at the time.

Bugner fought in a great era, but he never beat a great fighter (or even a very good one). Ruling domestically and contending for the heavyweight title---rather than actually winning it or coming close to winning it---just doesn't cut it when we are talking about what a guy has done to deserve a spot in the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

What was Bugner's best win?

This is one of those strange times. Poor old Henry's death will probably be overshadowed by the announcement of the death of Osama Bin Laden.
A similar time in 1977 had the death of comedy genius Groucho Marx the same week Elvis Presley died, another was in 2006 when actress Farah
Fawcett died about the same time as Michael Jackson.

A rather grim joke came out where Farah arrived at the Pearly Gates and God said "you have suffered so bravely. I will grant you a wish." Farah said "My only wish is for the children of Earth to be safe."

So God killed Michael Jackson.

I think Jacko died the week after. Jacko's death was foretold in these prophetic lyrics.

I got the years mixed up. They both died on June 25 2009.

I must have looked at the 9 upside down.

Bit disappointed that so near to Geales world title fight there is nearly no talk or even boxing media coverage of it. No doubt being overshadowed by the Pacman/Mosley fight but.... Still trying to work out a way to watch this at a mates with foxtel or via other means ;;-) ;;-) ;;-) . Help...please. Geez I hope Geale can bring it home and not get made love to in the buttocks by Ze Germans.
If he does win I wonder if the "Daniel Geale has done what Green and Mundine couldnt" could be used to catapault him into the limelight?!?!?!Hers hoping!!!

there has been a bit of coverage. I think some of the boxing identities here scense the importance of this fight to. Maybe im a bit of a pessimist but i believe if geale losses here it will usher in a dark age of Australian boxing

no nor is ward christ ward even more so not. Just cos they make a film of you roughly based on fatual events doesnt make you hall of fame material.

both fringe top ten gatekeepers defo not hall of famers though wards suggestion is worse than bugners.

decent top ten fighter at his weight but never remotely close to winning a real title. so knowing that how can you be hof? you cant.
