Maybe it's about time we got to see judges scoring in 'real-time' or at least we get to see a round-by-round breakdown of a judges card afterwards. I think the paying public have the right to see Terry O'Connor's card round-by-round so they can analyse and judge for themselves.

I tip my hat to you both!

Couldn't have said it better myself stu. :TU:
Well I hope Smith and Simpson get the chance to read that YOU are praising them, because (and I'm not trying to be an arselicker here) you were one of the classiest fighters out of the ring in the way you conducted yourself in post fight interviews. You had your fair share on moments in which I am sure you were biting your tongue (Jones DQ, Duran injury) but you held it together very well, and conducted yourself brilliantly when you lost to Rhodes. :TU:

No robbery just a top notch little tear up that could of gone either way.

Anyone notice smith constantly cranking his neck to one side,I thought he was gonna say he had a neck injury afterwards, maybe just a tiny bit of stiffness.

Fair play to Smith taking on Simpson in two tough fights in a row so early in his career. Couldn't really split them personally in both fights. Would like to see both fighters move on for now though, they are both young enough to meet again in the future, it was a shame about the amount of holding in both fights but all in all not bad. Be interesting to see if Smith can develop further under Gallagher and be more of an in out out fighter, using his speed to its full potential, rather than fall into a messy clinch every 20 seconds or so.

Agree with Stu, both came across as top blokes afterwards, especially Smith

yeah I agree, but it's alot easier to be a nice bloke when you've got the nod

Respect to both

I had Smith 1 round up 115/114 but can see how others have it the other way by the same margin but no more than a point either way. Like others have said a draw would have been a good result.

It is, but I can imagine it being quite annoying to think you've won and have to sit there next to somebody say they beat you twice. Thought he handled it well but obviously fully understand Simpson's frustration

My respect went up even more for Simpson after the interview. He got off his chest exactly what he wanted to say and never blamed Steven in anyway and still congratulated him even though he was fuming.

Common now, robbery is what Lennox Lewis had against Holyfield and what Roy Jones had in the Olympic Final!! They are what you call robberies! Ok last night was a tough close fight I agree with that, I thought Simpson worked the inside well while Swifty worked the outside well!! It's all about opinions and when all is said and done the judges gave it to Swifty..

He deserves a lot of credit does Stephen, he went into the lions den last time and this time went through a war with a better improved Simpson IMO, yet he still found a way to win.. To do what he's done in only 12 fights is exceptional IMHO..

Take a bow Swifty is what I say ;-)

back to back fights with a seasoned pro like simpson is tough going.i think smith fought the wrong fight & it was touch or go who won i fast fwd through alot when i sky plus so cant reflect on who really won :DD
smith showed his class in the interview & is a true gentleman & sportsman & he deserves an easy night :!: & some building fights now as facing a lad with a concrete head after a 7 month lay off & injury needs credit.

Both John and Stephen are very, very well matched. Smith is still developing his style and has not got his 'man strength'; he is a lot tougher than he looks though; Simpson gave it to him last night. I feel for John Simpson; he must have the heart of a lion to keep on going after disappointment after disappointment. The 118-112 scoring of the bout was plain silly. Neither looks to be able to get to the very top world level but they are capable and determined enough to be European title level (IMO).

I agree; John Simpson has an awful lot of character; he must have felt gutted. He may never be rich and world famous but he really is someone to look up to.

I knew the Jocks were bitter but christ....

It was a really close fight which I could only score when I got in and watched it on me Sky+. Horrible watching it live because you don't know who's hand is getting raised, but on watching again I gave it to Smith by two.

Robbery? Turn it in boys.

Love to see that happen but i doubt it is ever going to, i really would like to see O'Connor's card to see what rounds he gave to Smith
