The last great decade in boxing in my opinion. When the world title scene was still transparent. When the best fighters still met each other. When the term 'world champion' made you a big name.

Yeah too true. What was the richest fight of the 80's, Holmes v Cooney?

Roberto Duran vs Sugar Ray Leonard I.

Easy, two warriors, going at it for 15 rounds hitting eachother with bombs that would have dropped most mortals.

Hearns vs Hagler is overrated, besides the first round, it was fairly average.

Pryor-Arguello I for sure!

Hagler-Hearns is over-rated. 1st round is spectacular but the other two rounds are just Hearns habbing and trying to stay away from Marvin . . nothing too great.

For me it's probably Matthew Saad-Lopez II. Saad was in so many amazing barn-burners it is unreal.

Best fight in terms of action I have to go with Chacon vs Limon 4 brutal
Chacon vs Boza 2 was another exciting fight. Chacon did make for great action fighter, too bad his defense was very poor.

1. Chacon vs Limon 4
2. Hagler vs Hearns
3. Chacon vs Boza 2
4. Gomez vs Pintor best 12 round ever in my opinion. Very under-rated fight.
5. Pryor vs Arguello 1

I gotta go with Chacon vs Bazooka Limon IV as the best fight of the 80s. It was probably the best fight that I have ever seen. Then, I will go with Leonard vs Hearns I. What a fight.

I haven't seen all the big fights of the 80's, but I have seen several of the fights mentioned on here so far. My favorite that I've seen of the 80's has to be Chacon vs Limon IV what a battle every round was like Round 10 of Bowe-Holyfield 1, and it comes to a huge climactic ending. One of the greatest fights I've ever seen.

A lower level fight between Bill "Caveman" Lee vs John Lo Cicero was every bit as dramatic as Lyle/Foreman if you ask me, just at a lower level of the sport.

Those are probably my 2 absolute favorites from the 80's that I've seen

Tyson was paid $22,000,000, Spinks $13,000,000!

I wonder how much Donald Trump paid for the site fee?

It doesn't get much better than Chacon-Limon IV, Arguello-Pryor was superb but I would just go for Chacon/Limon!
