looking at that list of names mayweather didn't fight is enough to make me vom, but at the same time, they weren't all strictly available when Floyd was at their weights. No excuses though, he should have at least fought three of them.

He has a better resume than most though, and a lot of his victories have been one sided wipeouts that everyone would knew would happen after the event, I remember some pretty high profile posters on here picking de la Hoya, and hatton. Greatest fighter of my generation ... I think.

Do me a favour - Mayweathers fights are generally boring technical fencing matches.

It's boxing... hit and don't be hit... it's up to other fighters to make Mayweather stand and fight. This is a good fight considering he'llhave been out for nigh on a year and a half. Hardly a warm-up for Pacquiao, it's a tough fight.

Typical Mayweather fights a guy who is rated higly after coming of one good result which his opponent wasn't that prepared for. Ortiz did great in his last fight, but after that he is going to get rated much higher than he actually is at present

Agreed, nobody would have given Ortiz a chance, now all of a sudden, other than Pacquiao, there's no better challenge out there for Mayweather. Unfortunately there's a bit of truth to that when you look at the welterweight ratings, but if Mayweather really wanted a true challenge, i'm sure Cotto or Williams would have gladly dropped down to 147lbs, and i'm sure Martinez would have met him at a catch weight.

Mayweather has been waiting for the right moment, and he has found it in Ortiz. It is a fight that he is comfortable with and that he knows he will win.

On a side note, i have read snippets in a few places that Ortiz is bigger than Mayweather, where the eff is that nonsense comming from?

The main Vegas casino groups are not prepared to underwrite Mayweather v Pacquaio at the moment due to the former's legal woes.

Yeah that's kind of what I meant. Perfect preparation for Pacquaio if not quite in 'warm-up' territory. Also, as good as he is, Mayweather can't keep staying out for 16 months at a time, it will catch up with him and he'll get in there one night and be like Mosley - unable to pull that trigger.
