Price always looked in control in the gym but I'm sure Dallas will have spotted flaws he can try and exploit. Price is a big favourite but it will be interesting to see how the match pans out i.e stoppage or points.
I agree, Price definately looked the boss in the gym. Still has to prove his chin though and Dallas can bang. He will be on good money, why not.

Not slating you at all,i lumped on Price at 11/10 to stop Big john today...Price will KO Dallas easy...U Havnt got faith in Dallas thats why your feeding him to Price...Dallas is Shite!!
You'd hope that Dallas would have some form of rematch clause. Not convinced though.

10 round with the winner to meet Big John by the end of Oct.
Plan for the losser ? if its dallas southern area ? if price ?
Loser goes into the next heavyweight Prizefighter.

Great work by all involved. I was proper peeved when I heard that McDermott was out, but this is a better fight in my view.
Price is the favourite but I don't think Dallas should be dismissed purely on the basis of the Page (non)performance. everyone has off nights and that was clearly one against a very canny, experienced opponent who would cause problems for most novice heavyweights.
The manner of victory (assuming he wins) will be interesting for Price. If he blasts him away in quick fashion his stock will rise but if its a struggle then maybe that will highlight some areas to work on.
Would have been good if this was a straight eliminator for the UK title as then there would effectively be 2 semi finals (Dallas v Price and Chisora v Fury) before a mandatory showdown between the winners.

Yes he did lose to Chisora in 2005 and in 2006 he lost to David Price so sky are not wrong.

I like this fight. Dallas is being dismissed i'd like tae see him land a few clean solid rights on Price to see how well Price holds a shot.

good fight. perfectly decent last minute replacement.
id much rather watch this.
Dallas needs to dig deep in order to avoid getting ko'd early

Gutted BIG Johns not made it to the ring, but Dallas is a decent enough replacement, even though I see him getting took out early(ish)

Good match-up. Have seen the videos of them sparring and pretty entertaining stuff. Be interesting to see how they do for real.

Thought Pricey was gonna' blow McD away.
Think this is the harder fight as Dallas has a decent dig.
Still think Price is the classier man, but can't wait all the same.
Well done Frank

No one is getting thrown in Dallas team took the fight when over turn it down, I believe credit should be giving to Dallas for taking it someone,s 0 will go and a lost is not the end of anyone's career. Boxing needs fights like this to get back on the back pages of newspapers. Credit to both fighters. They are real fighters
agree 100% come on Tom now yours chance buddy

Doesn't sound like the best prep!
http://www.worldboxingnews.net/2011/06/ ... price.html
Undefeated heavyweight prospect Tom Dallas is looking forward to his acid test against former Oympian David Price on Saturday night in Liverpool, just four weeks after his eight round victory over Zack Page. The 26 year-old has a perfect fifteen fight record is hoping to put himself in line for a crack at the Lonsdale Belt.
Dallas was drafted in after scheduled opponent John McDermott was forced to withdraw with a throat infection and the 6ft 6ins giant had admitted to finding it difficult to get himself motivated for lesser known opponents, something that will not affect him against the Liverpudlian.
"I was painting my spare room yesterday [Tuesday] when I got the call," Dallas told kentnews.co.uk.
"It was out of the blue and I’ve not trained hard since my last fight, three weeks ago. Saying that, I trained hard for my last fight but I felt tired.
"I got bored in my last fight but I can’t switch off against David because he’s good. I know I won’t get bored because if I’m not going forward, he’ll be coming at me.
"I might get nervous on the day but at the minute, I’m quite excited. He’ll have his home crowd behind him but I’m not bothered by anything like that."
His opponent Price (10-0, 8 KO's) is widely tipped for heavyweight stardom and with home advantage, goes into the bout a heavy favourite to keep his unbeaten record.

Tom is roofer and is naturally a fit guy, so he will still be in shape. He is also a straight talker so he aint gonna be hyping he is purely telling it how it is. This will be a good fight i think and more competitive than people think. I believe Tom can knock Price out with no head guards but will be a tough ask. With Price coming forward a lot i think you will see a better defence from Tom, he knows he cant take liberties and walk through shots like he has been able to do to date. Chasing guys down in a ring is more difficult than it looks and can make you look bad, so i think this fight will make both guys look a lot better technically than their previous pro fights.
