I think this is a close fight.

Obviously styles make fights, that doesn't change the fact that he's coming off a very poor performance against an opponent he was meant to have taken in his stride. Perhaps if the match had been made after they'd both scored a meaningful win or two, I could understand taking a gamble with them then, but that's not the case. Dallas clearly looks as though he needs to be brought along somewhat carefully, whereas Price looks like a step up is required.
If they'd ever been viewed as being roughly on a par with each other, that would be something, but from what I can tell, it's pretty much a clean sweep in favour of Price as far as opinion goes and there's one thing Price has to spare and that's power. For those who think this is a perfectly acceptable match to make, how do you see this ending? If/when Dallas gets stopped in brutal fashion, will this still have been a worthwhile gamble?

I honestly don't think Dallas will be stopped in a brutal fashion.
I'm basing that on having watched both for yonks by the way.
The way I see it, you can only make a case for Tom being blasted out in a devastating way based on both of their last fights. Even then, it's not as if Dallas was on queer street against Page. Both are powerful but both their power is over rated of late. Neither are genuinely murderous punchers.
I think Dallas will get pulled out at around the 7th.

If Dallas gets stopped then it's back to the kind of opponents he's had up til now to work on a few things. He knows Price, they have sparred plenty of rounds, he isn't stepping into the unknown in that respect (I realise the difference between sparring and an actual fight). I'm not sure Price is at a level where is he going to be ruining anyone and the fact that Dallas' team has taken the fight, shows they must think of it as an opportunity.

Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to it, Price is one of my favourites and I've been impressed with Dallas right up until his last fight.
I just don't think taking the fight now is in Dallas's best interest.
I'm not saying I think Price will blast him out either, their knowledge of each other will see to that, at the same time, I just can't see this ending well for Dallas. I disagree that Price isn't a murderous puncher, he looks to me to have more of a natural dig on him than a lot of the top european prospects coming up.
I hope I'm proved wrong and that it's a closely contested fight where neither man really loses. I'd even be happy with Dallas being stopped on his feet or prematurely, but the way I see it going, Dallas will be slowly broken down and then at the point when fatigue sets in he'll be layed out in the kind of way that will be hard to quickly rebound from, career-wise. I just can't see another outcome unless Price holds back when the time comes.
Now if it were Price vs Fury or Chisora, I'd have no issues at all.

He deserves alot of credit for stepping in this late in the day and also Price for accepting a tough change in opponent.
Should be a very good fight.

He is stepping up to save the show, it is more in the interests of TV and the promoter, and us fans who would have missed out on a show this weekend. It is not in the best interests of Dallas, who was poor in his last outing against Page and isnt ready for this fight. I hope Dallas is getting a good pay day to do this because he should have had a proper camp for such a tough fight with Price.

I think someone will have a word in Price's ear to stick to the jab and save Dallas for another day. It will prob make Price easier to match as well in the future

What do you reckon Dallas is on for this - £10K?

Dallas didn't look to comfortable judging by Ringside last night.
Price could knock him out but I think he might take it to pts, seems they have alot of respect for one another.

He was shite in his last fight though. I know they have sparred a lot but surely he must know he will get sparked...... not a good career move.

dallas is a stiff puncher facing a weak chin, if he can survive the storm early & warm into the fight it spells danger for pricey's 0'.price will land first & often as he is a quality boxer & tom has no way near his ability.
also tom is a roofer & aint gonna turn down big jobs & fuk about.if he shined in his last bout this wouldnt of happend.
