At this stage of their careers I would have liked to have seen Holyfield v Tua. i think it makes sense as both seem to think they are still in the picture and realistically the winner could have asked for a title shot and a good pay day before calling it quits.

I don't hate aussies at all, I lived in Brisbane for a year, spent 6 months travelling around aussie aswell - Perth to Darwin round to Cairns and then down the coast to Sydney, I hop over the ditch numerous times to visit friends in Brisbane and the gold coast (aussie friends)and I'm even considering a job offer to work about one hours north of Sydney later this year (maybe we can meet for a beer ;;-) ) I do however dislike you, your ridiculous comments and your foul mouth

Dont see Thunder surviving 1 round vs Tua. But the Grimsley KO is a stunner. He sure had a puch. Was very hopeful for Thunder until he had a fight vs an American in the gold coast mid 90s. The guy was very awkward and tested Jimmys chin ...to his detriment. But he was good to watch. Really sad Tua got caught up in so much crap with trainers etc. Had it not been for that i reckon he would have dominated in the post Lewis scene. While Wlad MAY have been able to do a Lewis on him(ie keep him at bay with the jab all fight) I reckon a stoush with Vitali would have been a barnstormer. Reckon Tua would do them both as I feel he would of caught up with Wlad eventually and made a mess of Vitlali in a horrendously bruising encounter.

Agreed.
Couldnt see Jimmy Thunder lasting more than a round with Tua. But he definitly was an exciting fighter. He definitly had plenty of bang in his punch. I heard rumours that Jimmy Thunder is homeless in L.A. IS this true? Does any one know what he is up to now

I've read an article about this, it is very sad, he was a great boxer and a true champion. I hope things turn around for him, I'm sure the anzac boxing community could rally together to give some respite and support.

I love English people coming on and having a go, seems to get the blood going, I do have to admit tho, you guys need new material, the same song and dance that Australians overrating there fighters has been done to death, and comes across as rather lazy and plagiarized.
I'm sure theres a few more oldies here would have jumped on you before i did, i just managed to be that guy with a few under the belt that seen red, and had enough of build up of bullshitt from the same guy.

Great word, I've been lazily looking for a word like that, to express others disdain towards other nations.
For the record, you joined here(23 Feb 2011) how is it that you think you know who i am?
And who are you?

I think Tua's 16 second destruction of Future world champion John Ruiz would have been more to the point.
Just think If Crawford Grimsley was born in Australia (or the surrounding Islands) he'd be about number 10 in the all-time Aussie rankings - just for going the distance with a 47 year old Foreman.

Yeah I think he's the best aswell but I put it like that because there are so many diehard aussies on here that would pluck out some hillbilly from yesteryear that I've never heard of, and they would never have seen fight, but just the fact that Tua's a kiwi/samoan would be enough of a breeding ground for a silly argument.
What about Collin Bell or Bill Lang, or even Bill Squires or Peter Jackson!? What about 'Aussie' Joe Bugner? Jimmy Thunder has obviously slipped your minds as well! :P In all seriousness, he is great, although a prime for prime fight between Tua and Thunder would have been shit hot.
Tua was a top operator in his prime and a legit #1 contender to Lewis. Thunder at his best was a fringe world operator.

as for Bob Fitzsimmons it only re-itgates my point that along with Joe Bugner, Australia really has never had anything to shout about when it comes to Heavyweight boxing, and if you read earlier you will see that Brute was comparing Jimmy Thunder to David Tua, to which you said nothing.
What makes it even more ridiculous is that none of the aforementioned boxers were born in either N.Z or Aussie.
If we're talking Aus-
born heavyweights, I think Craig Petersen remains the best.
