It was not a prime version. He did not fight his way into contention by beating top contenders. He had a 40-0 record fighting lightweights and the likes. He then struggled virtually every time he fought at world level bar Maligananni and Castillo.

There are some fighters that are world class right now, but haven't fought anyone yet, but have the skills to beat a contender right now. Jose Benavidez is my suggestion for this category.
