I knew Shakor Jackson was good and I knew that it would be a good bout between Shakor and Alex Martin. It is one of the bouts I would have liked to have seen.

Another bout that I think is going to be good is the bout between Josh Temple and David Imoesiri.

USA Boxing just posted the results for the 201# bouts.
Just like I thought, the Temple vs Imoesiri bout was close and probably an exciting bout to watch.
201 lbs: Joshua Temple, St. Louis, Mo., dec. David Imoesiri, Carson, Calif., 13-13 (81-71)

Any thoughts from those in attendance in Cincinnati?

I'm pretty suprised Daniel Gonzalez beat Cesar Vila...I've seen Gonzalez lose to fighters Vila beat but I guess it comes down to styles and matchups...

Also suprised to see LeShawn Rodriguez lose to Apollo Sample...LeShawn isn't a bad fighter and from what I've seen of Apollo, he definitely should have beaten him...

Last Chance!
114 lbs: Juan Roman, Brooklyn, N.Y. vs. Ernesto Degadillo, Dallas, Texas --- Going to be a freaking WAR!
123 lbs: Demetrius Johnson, St. Louis, Mo. vs. Edwin Sandoval, Bakersfield, Calif. --- Dudes want to fight each other, now they will.
123 lbs: Patrick Harris, Capitol Heights, Md. Vs. Isaac Torres, Mission, Texas --- Intersting styles should make for a close fight.
152 lbs: David Grayton, Washington DC vs. Shakor Jackson, Newark, N.J. --- Two defensive fighters, speed vs. power, speed usually wins in the ams. Grayton abandoned the D in the first fight because he fell behind early on points.
132 lbs: Raynell Williams, Cleveland, Ohio vs. Raeese Aleem, Muskegon Heights, Mich. --- Best match up so far in this tournament.
132 lbs: Ryan Martin, Chattanooga, Tenn., vs. Kevin Rivers, Jr., Landover, Md. --- Should be a good one.
201+ lbs: Javonta Charles, Memphis, Tenn. vs Roberto Morban, Bronx, N.Y. --- Wondering if Charles can move up to super and defeat one of the best boxers at that weight.

I remember when he was 15 years old, 95 pounds though I don't watch the juniors that much. Then he turned open at 125, 132 I thought that was a great weight for him. Then he moved up then up again. He's winning though.

Delgadillo/Roman was paper score, I wish I could see a total point score here. I bet it was a good one with a lot of punches thrown. Kevin Rivers had an impressive win tonight as well. So did Javonta Charles, he beat former GG champ Morban. 123 is a stacked weight class. I wonder what it would have been like if 112/119/125 still exist because 114 has been stacked as well.

I think he's excellent. Really sharp and has the ability to make you look really bad at times. I thought he clearly beat Sosa in the finals of the last PAL, and, even though I beat him twice by around 4-5 pts, I feel like both fights could have been scored a little closer; told him so too. He beat a real good kid today and I believe he has the ability to beat anybody and wouldnt be surprised if he wins this last chance qualifier and wins the olympic trials. I wish him the best...

Yeah Fiorentino's a pretty good fighter...everyone I know was anticipating the result of Amir and Christopher Galeano...sounded like a close fight...Galeano's style prob presented trouble, tall lanky southpaw who uses his height...

Amir stopped my gym-mate earlier this year at the Northeast Regionals...u think Amir's a big puncher or its just precise shots?

Any thoughts on today's results?

Amir Imam fightin William Williams...easy to pick Amir, haven't heard much of Williams...especially with Amir beating some good comp. so far...

Patrick Day and David Grayton (152) should be a good bout...Day throws a lotta punches, Grayton brings it as well...

Think Luis Arias still has to be the favorite at 165...

Robert Brant vs DeRae Crane tomorrow...these guys have a lotta experience...whoever wins I think will take it all...

It's funny how much experience matters, but remember this, Crane won a National Golden Glove title before Brant even put on a pair of gloves. Crane has been fighting open since at least 2003, Brant's first open tourney was the U19's 3 years ago. Still, Brant will give him a fight.

Willimas went far in 2009 PAL, the year they had to fight 6 straight days to win the tournament. Alex Martin ended up beating him in the finals.

My picks outside 141, 152, 165 -

108) Fulton/Correa 114) Simpson/Degadillo 123) Toss up, any four can win it 132) Williams/Williams or Rivers 178) Jones/Crane 201) Jekabson vs. Temple will be the fight of the day in my opinon. Winner advances to the finals against one of the other men. 201+) Charles/Rather

Probably decided in a room behind closed doors before the bout. Or maybe they just drew straws to determine the winner? We judges live to rob - NOT! :witzend:

You know they don't draw straws, Mel. It goes to the highest bidder. Then we use that to hack the scoring system to make sure no one will find out. :-)
