Surely he wouldn't get away with having Reid as his next opponent.

Stick him in with Brinkley people will know the name from a few years back. His got a punch so can be claimed as a live opponent and will come forward for George to use a similar plan as the one against Degale but will be a bit less of a chess match. I think he may even stop him.
If he wants to defend the British Title and get a few fights in and keep it for himself you could always go with either Paul David (i'm not sure the fella that won super middleweight prize fighter is eligible) or Tony Dobson (Still a tought one but I think his last fight was at Light Heavy)
I think smith is moving down to Light middle although looking at his tweets a super middle might be easier after his stag week

Is he going to be lined up as Haye's comeback opponent?

Bika? A decent name that always gives a good account of himself, but loses the big fight?

Intially I was thinking that Groves might try to one up Degale by fighting Curtis Stevens, who knocked out Wilczewski in two rounds back in 2009 and won a few rounds in a ten rounder against Andre Dirrell. However, Stevens has been inactive for a while, is coming off a one-sided loss, and isn't exactly a big name.
Whoever Groves fights, I hope they are capable of being competitive.

Bika loses the big fights against pretty awesome opposition though. He usually breezes through second rate guys (Mendy, Manfredo, Soliman, etc.). I think that is too big of a step at this stage.

Bika would destroy Groves. Come on, anybody who is not elite gets splattered by Bika

Bit off topic Jedi but is that reliable about Smigga and LM ?
I can't see him having a hope in hell of getting down to 11st.

Sorry guys was thinking of my own glory days when I trained hard in the gym and nearly killed myself making light middle for a bet
I heard Smith was aiming for Middle weight
NOT light middle.

Sakio Bika in the States would be a big test, and could probably be made an eliminator for some interim KFC title in order to yank up the world rankings.

A big test that he would lose comfortably imo thus eroding the momentum from Degale fight
Should go for a Mendy type. Just lost hsi unbeaten record and by all accounts doesnt look upto much, but has a pretty saleable record

Bika is an ideal opponent for anyone looking to break into the top 10 in the world not someone who's still learning there craft.
Off topic but Bika was my bench mark for betting on the Mendy Bute fight I saw the long odds on an unbeaten fighter and wondered on the chance of an upset! When your on the floor in the first round against Bika you don't stand a chance against Bute over 12.

Bika is an animal. They won`t let him anywhere near Groves and nor should they.
Brinkley is a soft touch in my book and Groves would handle him pretty easily. I`ll go for a long shot and guess at a world title shot against Cleverely at light heavy. He beat one of Frank`s golden boys, now Frank wants instant revenge. Stranger things have happened.
Rankings mean nothing when we are talking WBO and Frankie boy.

I was thinking it was going to be Quiqley but he's down to face Jeffries. It must be a well known name.

I think too many people don't give Groves enough credit.
At first people just thought he was a brawler and then he proved he could out box someone with quick hands, skills and power. Quite a few of them names in the top 25 have been hyped up in the states and have lost or disappointed.
I'm not saying Groves is a world beater by no means but nor are over half of the top 25. The Super middle weight division is competitive but not exactly the best quality until you get to the top 5.
A forward plodding Abraham who has been found to be 1 dimensional and with little power in this division, Pavlik has not impressed since moving up, Quilin is quite young and ambitious but has not proved anything more than Groves, Miranda has a hard punch but nothing else, Magee is game but 1 dimensional and Bika is a slightly light hitting Miranda but with a better chin and Jesse Brinkley was in the contender wasn't he and did he even win it and fought most of his career at middle?
None of the above would easily smash Groves in my opinion and most would be seen as big news for a commenwealth/British title holder who are not as big headed as Degale.

Alan Green is moving up to Light heavy, and Jermaine Taylor and Arthur Abraham are looking to move back down to Middleweight (after a few catchweight fights apparently.) So count that lot out.

I can't believe Bika's so far down in the top 25. Just above Allan Green? Although he lost both fights on the scorecards he gave both Joe Calzaghe and Andre Ward- absolute elite fighters in the division- plenty to think about. I've never seen the Bute fight but I'm sure he gave him hell too. He's somebody nobody look like they enjoy being in the ring with. So putting him in with Bika would be the worst move.
On the other hand I thought Jeff Lacy lost his comeback fight didn't he? I hope he made enough money from his short time at the top of the tree to retire, because he's shot and I don't want to see him fighting anymore. He seems an alright bloke. He got beat up by Roy Jones! I hope it isn't him.
A Kenny Anderson rematch is perfectly acceptable at this stage in the game.
I wonder how competitive those sparring sessions with Andre Dirrell were?

Bika is a mother-fornicator of a fight for Groves, be astonished if he takes that!
I wrote this rambling biut about Bika a year ago.
