Bad :shame:
I might be imagining this but isn't chocolate milk good for speeding up digestion?
Even if it is, that 'benefit' doesn't outweigh the negatives, that's for sure.

Yep. It's a lesser evil than the chocolate perhaps, but don't kid yourself into thinking it's actually healthy. It's a completely artificial creation, nothing natural about it.

Peanuts aren't very healthy. Actually they aren't even considered nuts but legumes. As for other nuts, they're perfect for snacking. The best ones are almonds, walnuts and pecans.

Loaded may be an understatement but I can accomodate it as an occasional snack in my weekly consumption due to the make-up of my diet and activity level.

You'll have to excuse my ignorance on this one, but how bad a thing is that? Does the fact it's protein-rich and virtually fat-free mean that on balance jerky is still good for you?

If you can sit and eat a recommended portion size , which as I remember is about 1oz/28g, then it has about 600mg of sodium in it. Its perfectly fine. The problem comes from the 4oz bags which are not diffiuclt to polish off in one go, especially as they can be very moreish and lead to 2400mg of sodium consumption. Thats close to an individuals daily recommendation in one sitting.

High sodium intake can induce high blood pressure which then has knock on effects for other things like risk of stroke and heart attack. Again, depending on activity level, state of current health, water consumption etc Jerky can be consumed without concern in your weekly diet and by itself is not going to cause any major health issues.

Just don't go eating 4 packs in a day (I knew a guy who did that once and washed it back with a lot of beer :D )

I've been eating sliced chicken breast dipped in garlic flavored hummus. Quite delightful.
