I actually think this is a top fight,but Simpson should still be British champion&for no decent title on the line its to bigger risk...I think Choi would be to big&strong for him

x 2 mate choi boy world class john great guy deserves a lot but choi different level iv sparred millions of rounds with choi he only in cruise control but tellin anyone who will listen a fight would b a different story the guy is a machine this fight wont happen nothin to gane for john if he win s but i have choi well ahaed for stoppage

aye Spencer reminds me of Fagin type character from Oliver Twist .Sending his army of children off to populate boxing forums with genreal pish and blowing smoke up HK4L !

after boxing both lads am going with john on this one great fight but john is fresher , would pay anythink to sit ringside for it , spencer is doing a great job and some great shows keep it up

Looks a bit of a no win situation for John. After the last couple of years he has had he's hardly going to box, off T.V at York Hall, is he? And the last time Choi boxed on Sky, he got beat! Cant see it happening.

If Choi boys world class why's he never fought for a proper world title? He's a decent fighter but he's pushing 40. Simpsons fought the best 9 stoners in Britain over the last 7 or 8 years and in my opinion the better opposition. It would be a good fight but i'd fancy Simpson to win UD.

He hasn't fought for a world title because he hasn't had the backing of a major promoter: it's that simple.

I'm not saying he would have much chance of winning, mind, but it's not a question of ability; it's a case of not having a powerful promoter going in to bat for him.

P.S. Big promoters, as we all know, can affect the governing bodies' rankings. I recall just after Choi had beaten Derry, Jack Doughty, Choi's manager at the time, signed options with FW. Surprise, surprise, Choi magically appeared in the WBO rankings shortly thereafter...

Get the big promoter...Who will make sure you're ranked..Which will allow him to get you the shot...

Choi's been done no favours. FW didn't seem interested, I imagine because he felt Choi wouldn't sell enough tickets.

Whatever, it's a crying shame Choi hasn't had the opportunities. Win or lose, he's nothing if not entertaining.

I saw the bulk of Choi's fights when he was boxing for Jack Doughty in Shaw & he is a class act in & out of the ring!
