I thought Froch beat Dirrell by 2 or 3 points and so did a lot of other people. If you scored it to Dirrell then that is your opinion.

i dont think he is the best in Britain imo

As for Gomez, the guy whines about Khan over stupid things like a 3 year old. The same stupid things he conveniently ignores when it comes to other British Boxers.

One wonders..

He's not the best and he's definitely not the most popular.

Well the majority view is that Dirrell won from all the views on boxing forums and boxing writers i've looked but fair enough if thats how you saw it.

Froch stated that himself in his recently released biography which i've just read that he would have retired if he lost to Arthur Abraham so i guess he'd do the same if he loses clearly to Ward without there being any controversy.

I have said it before I think it is the flashy self confidence/arrogance that he has similar to what Prince Naseem Hamed had back in the 90s which puts people off him combined with the moaning that he has done when talking about entering the United States due to his Muslim faith that has got people's backs up when you mention his name. When you look at Carl Froch in comparison his self confidence has more substance and depth to it plus he has done it the hard way and not got an Olympic medal behind him. Plus he has won a Lonsdale Belt outright which is a bigger tick in my book than Olympic medal.

It's ironic that you say Khan gets his self confidence/arrogance from Naseem Hamed and Froch gets it from his accomplishments....it's actually the opposite in reality as Froch is self confessed Hamed Clone and sites thats he based his whole persona on Naseem from his ring style of keeping his hands at his waist to his arrogance and smack talk 'Smoke your boots'.

Wheras i think Khan is the complete opposite of Hamed, Amir probably reflects his generation more then any current boxer out there in that he's a bit full of himself, bit flash, bit petty, does the whole social networking thing and also comes across sometimes as not the brightest cookie around and just says irrational things when he can't think of anything else to say.

Except I have not seen Carl Froch come into the ring in a pair of leopard print shorts and/or on a magic carpet or on a lowride Impala (yet), and if Khan can think anything just shut up.

Khan is just a bit dim, and his advisors (I hate all this Team so and so bollocks) are rank amateurs.

Until he's faced a murderer's row of world class fighters over the best part of three years and beaten nearly all of them he ought to keep it shut.

And who would you like him to face in that murderer's row of fighters from 140lb from 147lbs then mate? My murderer's row would be

Zab Judah to unify the WBA and IBF belts.
Tim Bradley to unify the WBA/WBC/WBO/IBF and Ring belts.
Devon Alexander in defence
rematches Marcos Maidana.

Goes up to Welterweight
Fights the winner of Andre Berto v Jan Zaveck for the IBF Welterweight title
fights the winner Victor Ortiz/Floyd Mayweather.

Froch has fought murderer's row has he? Who may I ask is on that row? Dirrell? Taylor? Johnson? Abraham? Pascal?

Khan should be fighting a similar fight to Froch now, but Bradley pulled out. Froch's resume is better, but it isn't that far ahead of Khan's. If he fights and beats Judah, and then fights Bradley it'll be every bit as good as Froch's.
Great post DD

Also how exactly are Khan's advisors rank amateurs?

They've made some mistakes but who hasn't. They had the good sense to set him up in America with the best Trainer in the world and get world class sparring including the current P4P number 1, they got him connected with the most influential promotor in America(Goldenboy), they've got him on HBO and made him on the verge of being a star there and about to unify 2 belts and then later in the year all 4 belts and become an undisputed world champion and then the potential of a massive fight with Mayweather next year so dosen't sound like they're doing a bad job really.

Belts don't mean jack shit these days.

As for who I'd like him to fight.... after Judah Bradley is obviously the ideal candidate. Assuming he wins these two I'd look at the situation with Rios and his weight to see if that's a viable option or perhaps Marquez. Leave Alexander alone who really should have three straight defeats, likewise Maidana who barring a few decent rounds lost clearly to Khan and was taken to the wire by old ass Morales.

Failing that, Ortiz perhaps.

As for the Q about his backers, if you can't see how amateurish, short sighted, pennywise pound foolish they are then I give up. I'm not a Khan fan by any means but nor would I consider myself a detractor either. His public persona/perception is very poor and could easily be corrected by someone who has a clue having a word in his ear.

He's a good fighter who I want to succeed, but some of the goings on around him make it easy for people to jump on the hater bandwagon.

As for you exitred, how dare you infer I'm a racist. You have to look at my girlfriend and our children to see what utter bollocks you spout. I'm the most multi-cultural person on this forum by a country mile.

And what is this "from the moment i first saw him" bollocks. I'll have you know I bought ringside seats for both his fights in Nottingham and cheered the lad on.

It was later when when he began avoiding his domestic peers I began going off him. But the line was crossed when he nearly ran me over in his 4x4, then began sending me pictures of his cock that I said 'enough is enough'. :D

EDIT - it's obvious your not a full shilling by your comments about Amir having the perfect style to beat Mayweather. Khan looked like he'd been hit with a lump hammer when he fought a Columbian bin man - and suddenly he can beat Floyd Mayweather.

With regards the topic, Amir won a silver olympic medal and has some really decent boxing skills indeed. Perhaps he pip's Froch in that area. But as "Britain's Best" - well I'm afraid a dangerous but crude Maidana (who's never won sh*t) does not make a career.

Salita, Malignaggi and McCloskey were cannon fodder.

But anyway, you all know this already so you don't need me to tell you all.

Haven't you got an anti-Iraq thread to be spamming?

Yeah, discussing the guy who got both his legs shattered (one detached at the hip) and then died is really "whining like a 3 year old".

The man knocked down on a pelican crossing by a BMW driven by boxer Amir Khan has died at the age of 57.

Image

Geoffrey Hatton's widow Moyra said yesterday that he had been "a broken man" following the accident two years ago in which he suffered a badly broken leg.

Unable to return to work as a result of his injuries, the former foundry worker spiralled into depression and had to sell his home.
Mrs Hatton, 72, said she was convinced her husband would still be alive today had it not been for the accident.
Married for 30 years, she added: "My husband never recovered from the crash, physically or mentally.

"Geoff was a really happy-go-lucky person before the accident. But it changed him. He became depressed and got worse each month. He had worked all his life then he was told he wouldn't work again."

In the wake of these problems, he turned to drink, said Mrs Hatton.

Mr Hatton was crossing a road in Bolton town centre on March 2, 2006, when Khan's £65,000 BMW 645 convertible swerved past a queue of cars which had stopped for a red light and ploughed into him.

His right leg was detached from his hip and he had to have a metal rod inserted in his leg. He could walk only with the aid of a stick.
A trial last year heard that Khan had been driving at up to 47mph in the moments before he hit Mr Hatton. Khan was cleared of dangerous driving but convicted of driving without due care and attention, fined £1,000 and banned from driving for six months.
Khan, 21, was given a second ban a few weeks later after a court heard he had driven along a motorway at up to 140mph, nine months after hitting Mr Hatton.

Driving: Amir Khan arrives at court
At the time of the trial, Mr Hatton, from Farnworth, near Bolton, said: "I've not been able to work since and I feel like a broken man.
"I shouldn't have to be missing out on things in life and scrimp and save because of something he did which affected my life."
He was engaged in a battle with Khan's insurers to recover lost earnings and had received an interim payment of £40,000.
He collapsed at home on Saturday. His wife called an ambulance but doctors could not save him. He had suffered a gastrointestinal bleed.

Khan became a national celebrity during the 2004 Olympics when aged 17 he won a silver medal in the lightweight division.
A spokesman for Khan said he was "shocked and saddened" by Mr Hatton's death and that he sent his condolences to his family. He has since sold the BMW.

listen sunshine, im far from a Khan fan. I personally couldn't care less if Zab KO's him quicker than Prescott did.

But how about you dish out your crap on other boxers too.

Had khan been caught in the womanizing cheating-on-his-wife scandal whilst snorting coke that Hatton was in, you'd have made about 9 different threads about him...

Likewise, had Khan defended a WBU strap for 10 years like Hatton, you'd never let us hear the end of it...

Do as you please Gomez, but how about slating other boxers for a change.. you sound like a broken record

OK lets let you get this straight. Im referring to the countless posts you have made about Khan criticizing the guy over his boxing career/choices. Just as you criticize Khans career, do the same for the likes of Hatton and Joe

Likewise, if you're going to jump into out of the ring matters, why not hate other boxers for the stunts they've pulled? how about going nuts over other boxers private lives?

If you're going to call a spade a spade, do it properly...

Ha i think you're the one whose a bit cracked,

Just because you have a mail order bride from Thailand locked up in your basement dosen't mean you can't be racist or have a problem with people of other ethnicities or religions. Even if it's not that then you have a very unhealthy obsession about attacking Amir at every opportunity.

You did say that comment 'You didn't like the look of him the moment you saw him', Boxrec is a cool place for things like that as it'll be saved in history unless you've gone back and edited it out!

First of all, i wouldn't say i was a big fan of Khan before his knockout to Prescott but i've liked how he's built his career from that point onwards and he's gained my admiration for his win's over Maidana and Kotelnik and now wanting to face the best boxers in his weight class and above. I've always thought Khan was a nice enough lad but also comes across as a bit thick and boring sometimes which i guess isn't his fault. I find when he can't think of anything to say he comes out with something completely ridiculous or arrogant more because he lacks basic sense like a lot of young men his age who suffer from verbal diarrhea.

As for my opinion on Khan having the right style to beat Mayweather a year or two from now, well that happens to also be shared by the man percieved as the best Trainer in boxing today Freddie roach and if that fight does take place and Khan loses i would be the first to say i got it totally wrong.

Oh btw Khan didn't actually kill that man so stop saying he did, i accept the injuries caused his decline but at the same time there were other things going on that we don't know about...nice of you to make a joke about it though.

IMO if Khan beats Judah which he should and Froch loses to Ward which he might then Khan is above Froch.
Yes he did run a guy over (to much money at a young age going to his head) i agree but that doesnt stop you from being britains best.
If Froch beats ward then i edge towards him slightly but khan is more of a household name Froch is pretty much unknown outside boxing circles.

Which is a travesty. If Froch wins the super six it'd take two or three more big wins from Khan to catch him.

I read those quotes from khan on the bbc website and laughed a little - He's on the right track, but in terms of world class opponents fought and beat, he's a bit behind Froch at the moment.

Judah is a reasonable fight, though Judah's best days are well behind him in my opinion.

fkin hell! just read this thread and cant believe how its got all distorted and personal. grow up u feckers!

lets get 1 thing stright, Khan is not the UK's no1 yet, its froch. froch has done more and has more respect from the hardcore boxing fan than khan. khan is still immature and alienates himself from the boxing fan because he spouts out a load of sh:te.

He’s fighting Judah next who lets face it is over the hill. He wouldn’t beat a prime Judah, so if he wins tomorrow to me it means eff all. he acts like cos he beat a shop worn malignaggi, and somehow survived against the one paced Maidana (who some have said got exposed against Morales) that he is on a position to call the shots. He can only call them cos he has schaeffer and co behind him. Froch has done wat he has done with a domestic standard promoter behind him and no TV. he gets more respect from the hardcore fan than Khan because of this and the fact he has not dodged anybody. IMO Khan wont beat Bradley…which IMO is why he is avoiding him…prove me wrong amir and start fighting blokes with a pulse…
