I am a Northerner who has had to work on and off in Essex for 16 years - and I hate the f@@king place.

yes i am sure there will be.
probably take you 1 1/2 hours from Gatwick.
Gatwick express to Victoria Station (45 min) then district line to Dagenham Heathway (45 minutes)
