sure he had a lot of KO's early on. but recently (at a higher level) he doesnt seem to finish them (even in K1)...
Physically, Danny shouldn't be passed his best - he's only coming up to 30 and you can still count the amount of fairly tough fights he's had on 1 hand - with only 1 beating.
That's not the signals of a shot fighter. However, it is quite possible that he's never mentally got over the Sam defeat, he looked very gun shy against Mivrovic. Now, seeing Sprott sparwled over on the floor for a minute might really help his confidence - even though it was a dodgy moment, nothing beats the feeling of a KO and what a KO it was.
Another thing, is the familiarity of going back to Jim Mac, who should never have been fired in the first place. Danny's attitude with his manager has showed that mentally he's not recovered from Sam - while he blames himself, he still has the excuses "I couldn't get my shots off" and then eventually puts down to the coach and fires him.
Danny in the past has shown that when it comes to his real moment to shine, he blows it - the pressure gets to him. He couldn't win the British title on his first attempt, and failed in his first attempt at the European Belt.
Maybe, with Jimmy Mac back at the helm he can get back to his mental state prior to the Sam performance, he was really reeling off some impressive wins. He definately seems wary of his ability, as can be seen by his lack of ambition to get back in the ring with Sam - its all very well mouthing off to a 11 fight novice, but as Audley has said - Danny needs to focus on Danny. He's still in a better position than Harrison (at this precise moment) and really should be calling out Sam.
I just think seeing Sprott on the floor, he knows he's got the power to spark him with one punch now. With his most successful and favourite trainer back at the helm I can envisage Danny's putting on a much better performance. I think when it comes to going any further, he'll probably freze again. But, he'll KO Sprott.
