Ahead of Munroe! What is happening with him promised five fights a year since leaving Frank had one fight so far!Londonirish wrote:What place will the Winner of McD vs Hall be? 2 Boxers already in the Top 30 fighting Each other

yeah haskins should be on there after his win in africa
I agree nice to see. More of those types of fights following on from Murray v Mitchell, Grove v Degale thats what British Fight Fans want the best fighting the best in their prime years.Londonirish wrote:What place will the Winner of McD vs Hall be? 2 Boxers already in the Top 30 fighting Each other
I think Cleverly's record is better than Burns'.The Dark Destroyer wrote:Me neither. But I don't think Cleverly should be in front of Burns in the first place.
I didn't think his win against Bouleghcha was enough for him to push Crolla out of the rankings or go above other more active fighters like: DeGale, Arron, Booth, Fury or Purdy.Jamie Sanigar wrote:Good Shout! Yes, he probably will.leforge wrote:Former European champion so he position is rightly above Brook. But if Brook wins against a good opponent next time he should go above Hatton.Horse wrote:Hatton has achieved more than Brook.
It depends on who wins and the nature of the win, but the winner is likely to be ranked between 7th and 10th.Londonirish wrote:What place will the Winner of McD vs Hall be? 2 Boxers already in the Top 30 fighting Each other
Mitchell was in the top 30 last month, ranked in 24th position, he then climbed 16 places after beating Murray.Dan Dares wrote:Nice one horse. Good to see mitchell back in there.
granted there's not much in it, hattons made a couple of defences of his european belt brook a couple more of his brittish and both have won some other meaningless belts. but brook has a win over jennings who was the top ranked welter at the time and ndou while hatton only drew with him, like i say there's not much in it but i think brook is better and would win if they fought each other next.Horse wrote:Hatton has achieved more than Brook.addi wrote:and hatton for brook. The Dark Destroyer wrote:I'd swap Ricky Burns and Nathan Cleverly.
Murat is ranked in Ring magazine's top 10 and has a win against Campillo and several other decent wins, so I think he can be considered world class. The Dark Destroyer wrote:Burns beat a world class fighter in Martinez, and he's the best fighter either has faced to this point in my opinion. I'd rank him higher based on a world class win against Cleverly's wins against European level fighters, unless you class Murat as a world class fighter.
I agree. I have Clev ahead of Burns for the same reasons you do, but it could easily go the other way.Horse wrote:Murat is ranked in Ring magazine's top 10 and has a win against Campillo and several other decent wins, so I think he can be considered world class. The Dark Destroyer wrote:Burns beat a world class fighter in Martinez, and he's the best fighter either has faced to this point in my opinion. Burns' win against Martinez is the best win either of them have, but I don't think it is much better than Cleverly's win against Murat. I think the better quality of Cleverly's other recent opponents, compared to Burns' opponents, means he should be ranked above Burns for now. There isn't much in it though.
Jennings wasn't the top rated domestic welterweight when Brook fought him. Hatton, Brook and Watson should have been ranked above him at the time and possibly others as well.addi wrote:granted there's not much in it, hattons made a couple of defences of his european belt brook a couple more of his brittish and both have won some other meaningless belts. but brook has a win over jennings who was the top ranked welter at the time and ndou while hatton only drew with him, like i say there's not much in it but i think brook is better and would win if they fought each other next.Horse wrote:Hatton has achieved more than Brook.

all good points if you look at what all 4 was doing at that time i would agree that watson had the best results, and hatton the more prestiges sucess winning and defending a european title but jennings was ranked higher than them 2 at the time he boxed brook.Horse wrote:Jennings wasn't the top rated domestic welterweight when Brook fought him. Maybe Brook would beat Hatton if they fought, but then again maybe he wouldn't. Brook hasn't really shown that he is at or above European level whereas Hatton has. Brook needs to demonstrate his ability by getting good results before I can give him credit for it.
Who ranked Jennings higher? They shouldn't have.addi wrote:all good points if you look at what all 4 was doing at that time i would agree that watson had the best results, and hatton the more prestiges sucess winning and defending a european title but jennings was ranked higher than them 2 at the time he boxed brook.
If his next opponent is good then he should overtake Hatton.addi wrote:however it's small diferences, ones 12 ones 13 i'd swap them you wouldn't, but i do think that kell brook could very well be the real deal, i seen him win the jnr a.b.a's 2 years in a row and thought he's class.and i'd say he's showing improvment in every fight.

He is NOT British. He may have been born here but he is Irish.
Sykes also got knocked out in a round by Buckland less than a year ago.Wake up call wrote:Also, what has Lee Purdy done to merit his inclusion over someone like Gary Sykes? Sykes has beaten Crolla, Morris, Lawton, O'Hara and Johanneson.
And Purdy lost to Vassell. Sykes' achievements far outstrip Purdy's. Crolla and Johanneson were more established fighters than Watson.Horse wrote:He is staying.Wake up call wrote:I just don't get why you continue to include Andy Lee. I raise this every month.

Purdy beat Watson by knockout twice in a row, he deserves a place in the rankings more than Sykes at the moment.
Crolla wasn't more established than Watson. Johanneson was less credible at the time he lost to Sykes, than Watson was when he lost to Purdy twice.Wake up call wrote:And Purdy lost to Vassell. Irish fighters are allowed in the rankings.Wake up call wrote:No answer to the Andy Lee query?
