Yes he beat one proper cruiser wieght. I think he should be fighting at light heavy but. Let's face it cruiser weight is abit of a bullshit division. If there was no cruiser weight Flores & Tarvor would be fighting at heavy weight and Green would be fighting at light heavy weight.
At that rate you would have to go along with Nat Fleischer who maintained that light heavyweight was a bullshit division.
Well you could argue that if you go back in history alot of the best fighters were middle weight all though what about Archie Moore a very skillful light heavy weight

jezzamundo wrote:Danny Green fought in the 81kg division as an amateur, which is above the light heavyweight limit. He is a natural light heavyweight and always had to drain to make super middleweight limit, especially for his last couple of years in that division.
I read an article written shortly after his retirement, where he said that he had to drain 7kg to make light heavyweight, which suggests that his walking weight was around 86kg or 190lb.
For his first stint at cruiserweight he weighed 80-85kg, which he stated was a very comfortable weight for him. I believe he could have still made light heavyweight during this time, but he did not want to. When he fought Flores he weighed 89kg (195lb) and admitted that he drank 2 litres of water before the weigh-in, which suggests that his natural weight was still arond 86kg/190lb. After having his appendix removed, he lost over 10kg, much of which was muscle, which he regained plus some for the Tarver fight. Angelo Hyder said that Green was over the cruiserweight limit the day before the weigh-in against Tarver and judging by the photos, most of the additional weight was muscle.
I've said before that I think Green's best career option would have been to have not retired and stayed at light heavyweight. After beating Garay he could have pursued a unification fight against Dawson or Tarver.
I can't see Green fighting at light heavyweight again, if he's going to fight on, I think his best option is to fight at cruiserweight, but come in about 10lb under the limit rather than add bulk that does nothing for his speed or punching power.
Spot on Jezz. I think danny should stay at cruiser. he could even come in at 85-87kgs. Size is not power. Speed, timing, and other facets are power, not just size. I thought Green looked huge for the Tarver fight especially across his back. Not saying this is an excuse, but if it impacts on his "snap" in his punches, stay a little lighter I think.

Have a look at Liston's measurements compared to Clay. That tale of the tape has the weight for both fighters wrong.

From your Boxrec record you are about 2 inches shorter than Green and your photo does not show you to be all that solid. Your win/loss/draw record (6-6-1)is not all that flash compared to Green's either. Maybe you should concentrate more on your own career.
Brute thats a very general comment thats like me telling you to concentrate on your own job/career what ever it is. No need to get personal.

My brother and sister and I were all born there between 1947 and 1952. My mother said it was a great hospital and she was really sad when it was pulled down. She would travel from Granville to attend the clinics.

I lived in a rent controlled house in Granville until I was 5 years old. Paul Hogan's family lived three streets across from the house, which has since been pulled down. I never knew Paul (he is a fair bit older than me) but my mother's family knew his family. We moved a couple of miles from there after Dad built his own house. My family goes back to 1928 in Australia. A great great grandfather was transported from Ireland for taking part in a rebellion against your lot.

Where was your great great grandfather transported to?
If it was Australia, your family must got back further than 1928.
