enzo has had great success in his career & alot of that has brought praize to enzo calzaghe & now big mac is saying he messed about with his diet etc, but i dont buy that his coach would of had him at cruiser if he felt he could be effective at l.heavy.

i think as athletes get older they do thin & shrink & i feel enzo is falling victim to this & that he is better off. ive seen it before.i hope im wrong & we see him have new success coz he's a nice geezer.

I wonder what Bomber would say about the invite to pop down to the Calzaghe gym to spar with Big Mac... I don't think we have seen him on here for a while have we?, and I miss Bomber's posting on here as he comes over as a proper sound bloke and you always know where you stand with him. As for Big Mac he is going to be a big old monster at Light Heavy at 6ft 4, but I think he should have a couple of 8 or 10 rounders to see how he stacks up at the weight before purusing the likes of Nathan Cleverly, Bomber etc.

he has to dip his toes in.enzo talks big & instills great belief in his fighters which is a boost most needed in this game but frank hopefully gets him a low level brit then maybe ajisafe then see.

Enzo won't do anything meaningful at LHW, at least in terms of his results at the world level. I think some people are being overzealous with the "he'll be fighting smaller men" logic; don't forget that he was knocked out by several "small" cruiserweights (one of whom is nothing more than a Euro level operator at this point) who probably could've made LHW with a bit more effort.

Enzo has one win over a world class fighter, and that happened 5 years ago. I doubt his best is to come (a win over Cleverly would constitute his best result) after an 11 career that comprises 37 fights and includes several recent KO defeats. He seems like a good guy, and I'd love to see him succeed at LHW, but I won't be holding my breath.

I'm not even sure if Enzo beats the other "Big Mac" at 175.

He's said balling his eyes out in jest, I was gutted when the Frenkel fight happened and he was in bits.. He's a top man who consoled my mrs throughout the first McKenzie fight, he's also someone I can pick up the phone to and ask for advice from time to time!

Like I said were good mates and I have a ton of respect for him, I think he looks well at the weight and I really wish him every success for the future!! One thing is certain, I'll be cheering him on from a ringside seat wherever and whoever he fights against that's for definite

The only question for me of Enzo is can he do 12 rounds? He has gassed in many of his fights in the middle rounds imo. The drop in weight could be good, could be bad. Could be good if it means he trains harder and gets properly fit, but he could be drained and flag even more in the later rounds, who knows.

It will be great to see Enzo fight again. If he can make light heavy well and can carry the power and isn't too drained then he could be a force and have another crack at a title.

He does look a different person though with all that weight off, so it could be interesting.

He'd be one of the biggest punching LHW's if he keeps his power.

Most likely it will when he comes up against a big puncher but I still feel he can make a few bob and get some wins under his belt at British/European level. Lebedev, Haye and Frenkel are all monster hitters at crusierweight and the Afolabi punch was a right haymaker. Against the lighter hitting guys I think he can do okay.

I don't really like him, if I am honest. Doesn't tend to give credit to guys who beat him, its always his fault as to why he lost.

Too much hype about his power (which is overrated) and just not good enough above British / Euro level.

I don't think Afolabi is a monster hitter to be fair, bu tthe others are all KO atists so there are some excuses, but that's all they are reall, excuses. He's chinny as they come and the move down in weight seems strange, it will be very interesting at least and the guy needs to keep making money as long as he can, so fair play to him, it gives a fresh 'start' to his career at this late stage which will at least get him 1-4 fights and money depending how long his chin lasts.
