Whose Career Accomplishments Were Greater?
Re: Whose Career Accomplishments Were Greater?
JC Chavez, and yes, people are entitled to be wrong, but it’s not for picking Chavez and his accomplishments.

That would be correct if we were talking about Lennox Lewis.Aftermath wrote:JC Chavez, and yes, people are entitled to be wrong, but it’s not for picking Chavez and his accomplishments.
Re: Whose Career Accomplishments Were Greater?
That's right. Chavez' accomplishments were greater than Lennox Lewis and Joe Louis.

Not even debatable. But think what you will.

Of course it’s debatable, Chavez’ accomplishments were greater than Lennox Lewis’, Joe Louis’, and even Andrew ‘Six Heads’ Lewis and all the other Lewises and Louises you can come up with but you can think what you want – it won’t change anything. The history books will still show that he won more title fights and never lost or was staggered or got knocked down even against highly regarded punchers during his prime.
But go ahead keep thinking what you want. It doesn’t change anything.

For the first time, Chavez is ahead in voting.
Its been tight all the way.

Re: Whose Career Accomplishments Were Greater?
I was commenting on Chavez’ prime…pay a little more contention…Chavez was already considered on the decline when he Camacho a year earlier. By his own admission, George Benton purposely wanted to wait until Chavez was “another pint low before they put pernell in there with him.”BarryWashington wrote:Sorry, but, you're wrong.Aftermath wrote:SaadOffTheDeck wrote:![]()

Joe Louis' accomplishments rank much higher than that of Julio Cesar Chavez, Sr.
Since you seem to have this slant against Joe Louis so that you can somehow manage to put Julio in higher regards because "he won more title fights and never lost or was staggered or got knocked down even against highly regarded punchers during his prime". Then my response for that will be two words : Pernell . . . Whitaker
Joe Louis is one of my favorite fighters. I just rate Chavez’ accomplishments higher. Meanwhile, the voting is still close and he happens to be leading. That sounds about right.

Pay a little more contention, Barry
Re: Whose Career Accomplishments Were Greater?
He certainly should... And we would all do well for following his lead. More contention is exactly what's needed around these parts.Goodnight, Irene wrote:Pay a little more contention, Barry

There is already enough contention around these parts. A higher level of literacy would be nice thoughCrease wrote:He certainly should... And we would all do well for following his lead. You don't need my permission to be ignorant. You can do that all by yourself. I'm sure Chavez is overlooking your ingnorance all the way to the Hall of Fame and back.

Julio certainly wont find anything on Joe Louis in the Hall Of Fame.Aftermath wrote:SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Aftermath wrote:

Of course he will, I’m sure Chavez saw lots of Joe Louis’ memorabilia when Chavez himself was inducted on his first ballot this year.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Julio certainly wont find anything on Joe Louis in the Hall Of Fame.Aftermath wrote:SaadOffTheDeck wrote:
