I agree.

This date is only next month - and Bellew has tailored his training for this date for a while - when was Macintosh offered this fight ?

What roughly is "World title money" - were there any other "options" attached ?

A bit like Rogan / Fury, it is too simplistic to suggest that one fighter doesn't fancy it. It is also frustrating when one party alludes to the money offered without revealing the full facts (IMO they should either say nothing or tell the full story).

I would say that generally speaking, all pro boxers want the opportunity to fight for titles. Also, by the nature of the athlete, they would also be willing to face any other boxer of the same weight. Maybe the more sensible ones want to box in conditions where the playing field is more level, and the odds are not stacked against them so much.
Yeah the 'He asked for world title money' is VERY vague. More like he was offered the sharp end of the deal to fight in Tony's home town at short notice.
Didn't Bomber make these claims before only for McIntosh to rubbish them claiming allegedly was also demanding options?

Bomber, i think you've got the wrong end of the stick mate.

Danny Mac certainly WAS NOT asking 'world title' money to box you. This is what i am told happened (i should say i haven't seen this in black and white but i am assured this is 100% correct).

* The offer was £12,000 cash or a cash-plus-tickets deal that would have involved Danny having to spend a lot of time selling tickets when he should be training and preparing

* The offer also included a clause that would give FW Promotions a two fight option deal on him

* He made more for his first Euro title fight and A LOT, LOT MORE for his unsuccessful defence fight than he would have done from the Bellew fight AND THE FIRST FIGHT COMBINED

Danny has a lot of respect for Bellew but wanted to put the record straight on here as there have been some inaccuracies put forward.

He is certainly not scared of Bomber and i think that he proved his balls by taking on Cleverly, who has since proved himself to be borderline world class. But although he would like to box Bomber in the future i am sure everyone reading the facts listed above will agree - the Euro title fight makes much more sense at the moment whilst the terms to fight Bellew remain the same.

Personally, I am surprised that FWP asked for options because I thought they would have more confidence in their man.

The fight option thing is nothing to do with confidence imo, it's just smart business practice.

You could flip it on its head and say: "If Danny Mac is good enough to beat Bellew, then he MUST be good, and thus we want a piece of him."

In all honesty, I trust Bellew on this one, he wants the biggest and best fights out there, and when he lands that right hand anyone at light heavy is going asleep (even the 'fella from the valley's ' !

. I'm not sayin Bomber is lying - just that there must have been a misunderstanding somewhere coz Danny certainly wasn't offered 'world title' money. Don't forget that Danny saw the problems his stablemate Bob Ajisafe caused Bomber. He certainly wouldn't view this fight as 'Mission Impossible' after seeing how close Bob came to winning.

Just spoke to Dean Powell about this thread who, quite fairly, protested about my above comment that promoters should have more confidence in a fighter than to ask for options.

To be honest, having re-read that part of my post, I have to say that it well known standard practice for a promoter to require options in a title fight. My comment was a bit glib and sarky so I apologise to Dean if it annoyed him and am happy to put it straight.

I stand by the rest of the post though and underline that Danny DID NOT ask for 'world title money' in relation to the Bellew fight.

The Bellew - David fight should be a cracker and i'm looking forward to that one. I've seen David spar Bob Ajisafe and know that if Bob can give Bellew problems then David certainly can too

maybe, but whatever was said Danny has never asked for 'world title money' - you've seen the figures above.

Danny really did get fantastic money for the Euro fights and so i don't think anyone who knows the facts and figures about this issue would argue with the path Danny took.

Like I said Danny asked for stupid money! I don't write contracts and stuff so don't know if they wanted options but of they did then that's good news for him as he's got no promoter who is willing to get him fights,

While I agree fully with him fighting for the European instead of me in December! I cannot agree with him not fighting me this time, if I was him I'd have jumped at the fight, he's coming in off a stoppage loss and he'd be fighting for 2 titles not 1, I mean this is why we box isn't it?? Like I said I don't knock him for knocking the fight back in December but I think he's plain crazy knocking it back now. I'd jump at it!!

As for this fight, I'm not a matchmaker?? I've made it plainly obvious who I'd like to defend my titles against.. Once again guys on here, THANK YOU ;-)

without sounding stupid (if possible) - Would the main reason for this be to keep the 'belt' with the organisation ie FW promotions? or would it be to possibly inherit a better fighter with a view to forging a good working career with them?
So now your saying Danny Mc will beat me?? Lmfao.. You keep getting better!! We'll see who's asking for options when fights get made Eh ;-)

I don't know who's next in all honesty?? That's up to FWP mate ;-)

Depends on the fighter. Options don't usually come in mega fights, otherwise they'd never happen.

DK was a big options fan but he's slipped up a few times.

Promoters don't always persue the rematch or options either, but it's nice to have them, I guess.

So a bit of both, to answer your question, however it's not primarily the sole reason. It's rare that options wouldn't actually involve a return, should the challenger beat the champ which would definitely keep the belt in the family.

People slate FW and the like for keeping belts/champs ticking over and keeping it in house but most promoters do it and FW has been doing it since day one - If you look at his first world title fight (someone may correct me?) promotion, it was Andries vs Sibson.

DK is the master at recycling, he would dredge up guys to feed to his money makers and when the odd upset happened, just feed the new champ to his next prospect if he wasn't marketable enough (Steve Littles is a prime example).

How close Bob come to winning?? He barely won a round, look back at it, it was a dreadful performance by me and even that was enough throughout the fight! It does not come down to money with McIntosh! He doesn't wanna fight! I don't care who else he's boxed, he don't wanna fight me for some reason?? I don't know why?? I asked to do winner take 80% and loser gets 20% of both purses combined if it's about money! I'm past caring about Danny Mc now, I wish him luck and you won't hear me talking about him again,

Cardiff asking me to box Ajisafe AGAIN?? I've beat him clearly once! Why should I do it again?? Would Cleverly box Najib Mohammed again?? Like I keep saying I don't choose who I fight as I'm not a manager/matchmaker/promoter/trainer!! I'm the fighter and guess what he does, he just fights ;-)

How is the training going for the fight against Paul David then Bomber and how neverous do you get about fighting at home then? And if you get past David when would you do hope to fight for the Euro strap or is your main aim to win the Lonsdale outright?

To right bomber tell Frank to get them them in the Echo for you my money's on you stopping them quicker than 'the welsh superstar' did , as for 'big bad bob' it wasn't a great performance you know that but you did enough though to get the WIN which is all that matters, hope training is going well mate.
