Yeah, maybe he's got an audition for a bit part in the Archers...

Nothing wrong with a bit of tweed, mind. I'm warming to it myself since I moved to the countryside. :TU:

Who would buy a ticket for this fight without knowing the opponent. Only 4 weeks away shocking.

Does any1 think it could still be Rogan and its all theatrics? No opponent named and 50 large been chucked about as a purse? I would think there would be several good class euro or even American heavies past there best but still marquee names who would jump at the chance of clearing 30 grand plus. If he's no interest in the fight why turn up suited and booted at presser? unless that's normal attire for cabbies of Belfast

Tyson fury comes across as a very likeable chappie.

Theres no way that fights worth £50k, what about Audacious Audley?

Thinking about this, I reckon Rogan perhaps holds the upper hand in all this.

Hennessey and Team Fury clearly want to fight Rogan hence why theyve booked up the Kings Hall. They see Rogan as a big ticket seller in Belfast with a relatively decent name. To that regard I think theyve put all their eggs in one basket. Rogan knows this, hence why he's refused £50k and is now hanging around the scene in an attempt to hike up his payday - which I think he will probably get.

If the opponent is anyone other than Rogan then you can guarantee that the Kings Hall is gonna be largely unfilled. I think all parties know this.

Agreed. I think it's all just hype, but if it's not, Rogan should be jumping at the chance, how many times will he get the chance to fight a limited and highly rated contender on national television on home turf?

See, I understand the revenue may be high from the fight, but if it was anyone else rogan would jump at the chance of a 50k fight, let alone the add ons / future earnings if he won. I recall Clinton Woods doing something similar with joe Calzaghe a few years ago, turned down something like a million cos they wanted a 50/50 split, fight never happened, ended up fighting for a fraction of that, then a little later ended up getting changed in a disabled bog fighting against glen johnson.

Its like they say when these blokes go on dragons den but dont make the deal. 51% of something is better than 100% of nothing.

From hennessy for this fight ?

You may be right, hardly great negotiating skills to book a venue in his hometown and start with an opening gambit of 50k without any other possible opponent in sight 4 weeks before the fight.

£50k for a challenge is a super purse for this fight. He is way off the mandatory position and should grab the fight with both hands in Belfast. However, it looks like the contat has been made through middle-men and Rogan obviously feels someone is getting a bit on the side.

Still £50k is a good purse for a challenger in the challengers home town.

I think there'll end up getting an eastern european import over, that's what they did in Dublin last time. It would be silly to pay Rogan more than 50 grand.

Yeah but that is because he was the undercard with Bernard Dunne headlining. Now he is keadlining in a city that he has never fought in before. Different ball game. He needs a name in the opposite corner.

Rogan is that name, if he doesnt get Rogan I think he will still need Rogan on the undercard.

Does Hennessy think Fury will sell out Kings hall with any old opponent?

I dont think so, if he does he is wrong.

He wouldnt have offer anyone else half the offer Rogie has turned down. Rogie is still a draw, or at least a curiosity.

He needs to be on the undercard at least, so that they can fluff up the rivalry and maximise ticket sales.

Tough task, even with Rogan v Fury.

They leaving it very late to be able to sell all the tickets. Is Coleman Barrett or Mcbride likely options?

28 quid for a ticket is cheap for boxing though surely there'll shift quite a few. Most bills in England are 35-40 quid for the cheapest ticket.
