Yep, Warren's baby is DeGale. He won't give two shits about Gropves but will use him to extract cash, then when Groves doesn't perform, drop him, or even sacrifice him at will.
Don't think so, because while DeGale might be the better long term bet, Groves could be box office. He's got a great personality ( unlike DG ) and can also fight a bit. FW will match him well, and will also be hoping Groves can pick up a world title.

Excellent move by Frank, Dean and the team. Let's see what they do with with him next. FWP has degale, clev, bellew and groves all around the same weight. Interesting times ...

It'll be fun to see who gets first dabs at the Warren Boxing Organisation Interim/Full title shot.

Surely Groves has first shout - he has all the cards, and is still unbeaten and he wouldve built that into his contract/negotiations?

However, to really make the money - Warren could have said, Let Degale have first shot - let the furore build up amongst the fans and then they both fight with many fans saying how could he let Degale get first shot? ££££££££ :OhYes:

Perhaps he looked at the offers on the table and chose the best one?

hell's bells man, what kind of depraved weirdness are you advocating, here?

I do you want to see James DeGale and George Groves back in with each other, but not just yet. I think what needs to do is is they should be kept apart for the next year or 2 and with some clever manourving try and get either one of them or ideally both of them to a world title then have the rematch where the stakes are even higher than the British and Commonwealth straps.

fwank needs as many good boxers as he can get, Degale isn;t his no.1 by any stretch of the imagination. fwank is a crude business man at the end of the day so he'll look after who ever is producing the goods - i'e ticket sales, popularity..and thts it. You have no friends or alliances in business, one of them.

Good news but Groves is limited and overrated, I don't care if he beat Degale (who is also overrated).

But Groves is good fun to watch though and I will admit I am not totally won over with DeGale in the paid ranks either at the moment.

Warren signed Junior Witter when he had Ricky Hatton too.

So don't hold your breath on the rematch.

If Bute beats Johnson, then if either Groves or Degale are going to make big-noise one would hope they could outbox a 43 year old Glen Johnson by the end of the season? Non?

Its a brilliant signing for FW. Groves shifted a hell of a lot of tickets for the DeGale fight and Fwank will be more than happy to go again at The O2 possibly with Mitchell in a big fight too.

If you look at the super middlewieghts out there at the moment who are World title holders – Bute, Kessler, Froch and Ward (and then throw in the likes of Abraham, Dirrell, Pavlik, Glen Johnson and even Sakio Bika!) then I can’t see DeGale or Groves going anywhere near them soon so think it makes sense for them to fight each other soon and then the winner have a couple of defences before going on to the likes of the named good fighters above! :bag:
Undoubtedly it will happen again - very interesting to note that a stumbling block for the Hearn deal (alledgely) was the GPB angle.... I'm wondering if the problem with this is the Sky thing? With Sky having difficulties getting the rights to his US fights?

Makes me think even more about this allegedly channel. And if this might be a PPV venture then Degale vs Groves might happen sooner.

The landscape of the Super Middleweight devision is changing somewhat - two of those 2 contenders are unavailable(ish) - Abraham is going back down to Middleweight and Pavlik is not be heard. But, there are higher ranked fighters than those contenders that you mentioned (with some of the governing bodies) who might pose less of a threat and I would say either will be ready for after a couple of tests (not against each other). I'm meaning Magee for sure and possibly Sartison.

I'm thinking Mitchell v Murray here..

How will Murrayl be brought back?
Did fWank sign him to get a springboard for Mitchell?

Groves may find he has the harder route mapped out. And all directed at building up DeGale at the end.
I really hope i'm wrong ..

At this stage of both Groves and Degale's careers, I feel Johnson would wear and walk both of them down for a UD or late stoppage.

Big suprise. I think Groves and Booth and got their sums wrong by joining forces with either Sportsnetwork or Matchroom. Time will tell, but Groves has earned a lot respect from facing off against tough opposition in a short space of time. I'm afriad they may find themselves having to justify the opposition from here on. Shame they couldn't find a place on Ch5.

Won't suprise me to see DeGale win the European title. Groves to go for Brian Magee if he still holds his Interim WBA title and the 2 to then square off once again.

Exactly. FW only favoured James because he was with him and he genuinely believed he was the better man and a good bet for real world honours. Groves is by far the bigger draw, though. The crowd at a packed O2 were very pro Groves and i would not be suprised for him to fill it again for the right opponent.

What now for Hayemaker then?

Its a real shame that Setanta went bust for them, they had some top boxers signed at the start and put on some great shows - real value for money, some real 50-50 fights, put prospetcs in with decent fighters a lot earlier than others etc.
