I actually agree, Booth IMO is underrated he has a calmness about him, unfortunately Haye has always been the arrogant, and egotistical type. I think Gavin could do a lot worse.

I don't think Booth would be a very good fit for Gavin. Haye and Groves rely a lot on natural power and athleticism Gavin seems like more of a technician. Not sure Booth would bring out the best in him. Although I do agree Booth seems like a very sound tactician.

Gavin always says he'll lift his game according to the opponent he's facing. In which case maybe going to America where there's a deeper talent pool and a higher caliber of sparring availible would be the best thing. Never a simple decision to up and move when you have kids though. Either way seems like a good strength and conditioning coach would be helpful.

Tibbs is a bit of a disciplinarian isn't he? He's a good trainer, obviously you can't make people do things but he's done well with Mitchell and has produced the goods with many other boxers previously.

Gavin has so far failed to impress in his pro career. He has repeatedly come into fights looking out of condition and so far has managed to get through in spite of poor fitness by utilising the incredible natural boxing ability that he has. Unfortunately the boxing scene is littered with ex-boxers who possessed massive amounts of talent but for one reason or another never achieved greatness. Gavin seems to lack the intense discipline that is needed to achieve at the highest level and I am not sure that any trainer is going to be able to get that commitment from him.

I thought Gavin was fortunate to get the decision against Woodhouse and unless he really starts to knuckle down it is very possible that his career will fizzle out before it even gets going. He really has to be in peak condition for fights to produce his best boxing for every single round, I don't think he has the power to really mix it at top level but if his fitness was right he is capable of giving boxing lessons to anyone in Europe.

Hope this switch brings the best out of him.

I don't really rate tibbs, when Kevin got smashed by katsides no1 said tibbs done a bad job but now Kevin beat murray, tibbs has done a good job.

Maybe not as a trainer Bomber, but having plenty of hangers on around the gym and around Frankie Gavin can't help the situation and being too matey with him did not work when to came to losing weight for the fights, but fitness as not been an issue, even though Frankie was overweight for his last 2 fights he did the distance fine. The fact that Frankie has been hit more in his fights is more down to his obsession with ko's, is that the fault of Arnie ? but maybe Arnie should have been harder with him when slacking on the diet. On the whole it is maybe the right decision, because Frankie needs a fresh start to achieve what is needed.

The bright lights of London might not be ideal, but at the end of the day it is up to Frankie and no one else, I mean you can bring a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.

I have to disagree with you that Gavin was lucky get the nod against Woodhouse. I found it incredible that one judge gave it to Woodhouse.

If they were two unknown fighters then that fight out have been scored 117-111 in my opinion. Please just expected complete domination.

Did not Tibbs say that Miitchell was fit and ready for Katsides and the after the defeat blame Mitchell for slacking in training, If he is the new trainer for Frankie Gavin a strange decision considering this, I mean if he had trouble with Mitchell, whats to say he will control Frankie any better then Arnie Farnell.

Tibbs is a fantastic coach and nobody can deny that! Nobody!

Frankie has decisions to make, he's a man now and he will make them how he see's fit, I still back him to win a world title no bother at all..

There may be bright lights in London but there are no bright lights in Canning Town. Tibbs is a quality trainer but you have to remember ultimately it is down to the fighter and whether he is willing to apply himself

McCracken is also a trained chef, it's the route he was going to take post-boxing. He cooked Carl's meals and gave his recipes and things to stick to. I think Frankie could perhaps with some of that approach if his eating is poor.

I think the fact Frankie recently found out that the "son" he's been raising for the last three years - was not his, must have shattered him. I couldn't think of a bigger mindf*ck to be honest and I feel sorry for him there, no shadow of a doubt.

I think folk need to relax on Frankie and Arnie myself for a bit.

i cant see him getting to the top to be honest bomber, i still think he has discipline problems as regards his weight, he should be 140 at most or even lightweight. he always looks 'soft' at the weight as if he carries a couple of extra pounds or so, he defensive attributes are top notch, his offensive moves are good, his power is only so so unfortunately. but.... Gavin lacks some sort of discipline and fitness, i cant put my finger on it exactly but there must be a reason why gavin was outboxed/out thought and outworked in the last half of his fight with cirtis woodhouse!

i can only have sympathy for Arnie as i think Frankie is having too much 'funtime' and not enough 'runtime' !!

just my thought............opinions anyone?

What he needs is a conditioner and nutritionalist and a coach that he doesn't get too pally with.

I still think America would be the best bet for him, better sparring etc.

It depends on the person though, Tibbs might work really well with Mitchell but doesn't click with someone like Frankie.

I wasn't aware of the issues with his 'son'

In fairness that def is enough to make a fella want to leave an area and also to lose focus
